March 25, 20223 yr How are more of you not interested in this! Steps are giving us content! :( #TeamHazelnuts
March 25, 20223 yr Indeed They are really putting some effort in uploading their videos lately. Love it as it’s a nostalgic trip
July 21, 20223 yr Some extra info about the HD remaster of Chain Reaction, from 'Bring It All Back': Who could forget the iconic Chain Reaction music video, which sees H from Steps rushed to hospital with a broken heart? Starting with a one-take continuous shot in a hospital, the video then shows Steps ascend to an ethereal realm, dancing among blue panels representing clouds. The best available copy of the music video was on analogue tape known as Beta SP, which had a bit of distortion known as "sparkling" due to its age. So we cleaned it up and upscaled it to high definition, ready to be enjoyed by the YouTube generation. As part of the remastering process we found some unused rushes from the music video and so we video-called the original director Patrick Kiely. We used this footage to create a behind-the-scenes interview video for the official Steps YouTube channel. https://www.bringitallback.co.uk/pages/chainreaction.php
July 22, 20223 yr Im hoping we get a sales update for Gold when the platinum collection is released, with Gold does it still get streams or do all the points go to the ultimate collection?
July 22, 20223 yr ^ It's currently impossible for us to know that unfortunately! I would have assumed that since the Ultimate Collection was removed from download and streaming platforms that it would all go to Gold, but last September when Girls Aloud re-entered the albums chart, some streaming data went to Ten but also to The Sound of Girls Aloud, despite the fact that the latter has been unavailable to download or stream for years. The OCC's handling of data is truly a mystery at times. Plus I'm still suspicious about how well The Last Dance sells, considering the tracks included on it are quite obscure - B Sides and remixes. It went Silver in September 2017 but was Gold by August 2021, which is 40k in just under 4 years. It works out as just under 200 sales per week. While that doesn't sound like a lot, it is remarkably high considering the track list it has - only five songs on the album have over 100,000 streams on Spotify, the top song having 345,000 streams. The Last Dance gets more sales per week than Spice Girls - Spiceworld does (random example) even though every track on Spiceworld has managed at least 3 million Spotify streams. It does make me wonder if some of their actual hit singles (which are not included on The Last Dance) are actually contributing to The Last Dance's sales.

Tbf I am ok with that if so  Gold is already a million seller in its own right The Last Dance needs all the help it can get!
July 22, 20223 yr Ya in a way I agree as last dance needs all the help but on the other side it shows how fake streaming has made album sales, its bonkers. Edited July 22, 20223 yr by Feel_The_Fever

Gold status for an album that completly flopped isnt bad. Light Up the World looks even worse on paper now.
July 23, 20223 yr For a band that got it so right in 2017, they got it so wrong in 2012. Although I might argue that 2/3 singles from WTFH2 weren’t “right” either.

July 24, 20223 yr The Last Dance with the updated sales is treble the sales of the much superior What the Future Holds Part 2 and on similar sales to Part 1 :( WRFHP2 is on about 45k so TLD is on just over double the amount not treble.
August 10, 20222 yr This performance happened between the Steptacular and Buzz eras but I'll post it in the Gold thread anyway: DMOLgsO-2Wc
August 10, 20222 yr Really lovely performance from the girls, Claire and Faye are both strong live performers!
August 10, 20222 yr The majority of their performances of I Know Him So Well only involved those three! The Saturday Show, CD:UK, Steptacular tour, Gold tour, their 2012 Christmas tour. As far as I can tell it's only the ABBA Mania performance (which was used as the music video) and Top of the Pops which had the boys on stage too and singing "oh so good, oh so fine". And in the studio version of course. I suppose for the most part the boys felt like spare parts in that performance and it was decided that it would be a female members only performance most of the time.
August 10, 20222 yr It makes sense when you explained it, it wasnt something i remembered from back in the day.
August 11, 20222 yr Coming in 18 hours: Ts6-sJE6ruE Amusing that Lee is the default picture for this particular video given that his role in this song is rather limited!
