April 19, 20214 yr This seems like it's the same situation as that Fish album a while ago - I don't see why they would be unable to make those sales count, they are just choosing not to for some reason.
April 19, 20214 yr This seems like it's the same situation as that Fish album a while ago - I don't see why they would be unable to make those sales count, they are just choosing not to for some reason. The Guardian say they're using "a local distribution company for their pre-orders that isn’t recognised by the Official Charts Company" - I'm not sure why they wouldn't be recognised by them though?

April 19, 20214 yr Hopefully Levitating gets reset to Standard Chart Ratio. Dua deserves a #1 after 3 years! It would still be quite a way off #1 even if it is reset again :P
April 19, 20214 yr While She Sleeps are 'unofficially' #4 in the albums chart - they chose to release their album through a local distribution place not recognised by the OCC View this post on Instagram Fair play to them!

April 19, 20214 yr Great to see London Grammar looking good for #1! And The Offspring and Greta Van Fleet in the top 10, both looking to get their highest charting albums.
April 19, 20214 yr Classic OCC inconsistency if the Young Stoner Life compilation is allowed to chart - it's pretty much the same deal as the Dreamville 'Revenge Of The Dreamers III' compilation that was not allowed in the chart (although that did actually appear in the first midweek update as well iirc so maybe the YSL one will also get removed by the end of the week, who knows). I guess it might be getting around it by crediting Young Thug and Gunna as artists on the album overall but there are quite a few songs on the album that feature neither of them. Anyhoo, great to see London Grammar on course for an easy #1 as expected. Actually mildly surprised to see AJ Tracey already at #2, I thought he might be behind The Offspring and/or Greta Van Fleet in at least the first midweeks!
April 19, 20214 yr So the OCC is recognising the While She Sleeps album then if it's showing at #23? Not all the sales would've been from the distributor that they don't recognise
April 19, 20214 yr So the OCC is recognising the While She Sleeps album then if it's showing at #23? The point is it'd be at #4 if all the sales were counted, clearly there are enough fans not buying from their ineligible distribution company for it to be top 40 in today's mids.
April 19, 20214 yr It's only the sales from whatever their unregistered independent distributor is that wouldn't count. edit: anyone else want to explain it as well? :basil:
