August 13, 20231 yr Just looking at Steps singles discography and Neon Blue is the only single since they reformed not to make it on the digital sales chart which im assuming is also a top 100 as A Hundred Years of Winter has a peak of number 98. Disappointed to see that it literally sold nothing considering its one of my fave ever single from them.

I always thought they were nuts not to go with this as the second single off the album however perhaps I was so wrong since it did nothing at all anywhere :cry: I think it's probably my second favourite Steps single so am a little gutted for it.

Totally agree although we might be biased as we love it and the fact it done nothing sales wise may show not others agree with us but to my knowledge its fairly popular among fans I think.

I think we should bear in mind that 2017 download sales were somewhat healthier than nowadays, so #114 then in terms of sales would likely be well within the Top 100 in more recent years. Neon Blue had a remix bundle release, but they didn’t release the radio mix to download while Neon Blue was the current single. The first time it was available was when they reissued Tears.

Thanks for sharing this, i wonder why they took that route with not having the radio mix download available until tears was reisssued, im sure they had some logic behind it even though it probably didnt work out as they planned.

August 15, 20231 yr I think it probably wasn't helped by being so far in the campaign and after the album, it's hard to see how a Steps single would even sell more than a nominal amount.

August 20, 20231 yr Author The singles get overlooked and minimal support and they don't fit into the streaming era which makes successful singles next to impossible for them. We are a minor group of people who get to enjoy glorious songs such as Neon Blue.
