I'm a big fan of 1992 - dance music was utterly destroying every other genre.

I don't like 1992 for the same reason.

I'm gonna comment on some official compilations in this thread too.

I've recently furnished my collection with some of the 10th Anniversary Now albums, on CD, that came out in mid-1993.

I had Now 1987 from years ago but purchased editions 1988 to 1992 from my local Amazon to expand on the era.

As always, I tut audibly at the sequencing - sometimes they don't make the best of what they have an Now headquarters.

Sometimes they get it very right.

I'll start with Now 1991.

My revised list for Now 1991.

I've removed 3 tracks.

The Wonderstuff* Size Of A Cow -They already feature with Vic Reeves. Bin!

Living Colour Love Rears Its Ugly Head - Pointless, and hardly anyone remembers it. Cue a Buzzjacker saying it's great.

Monty Python Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life - Awful.

Added

Disc 1 is very clunky, almost self consciously all over the place.

The Clash should definitely have followed Bohemian Rhapsody.

I don't know why the decided to separate The Source and Crystal Waters from the rest of the dance music.

Disc 2 is much more fulfilling.

Well there’s not a single song on there that I don’t enjoy. I probably think of ‘Moods’ style stuff as more new age kind of things than most of the indie/trip hop adjacent songs on there, albeit I stretched it a bit on my own version with Gorecki etc.

That Moby track is a good shout though, think I’ll replace something on mine with that.

Absolutely. I do have less world music than would normally be on a moods album.

Ooh, I'll be interested to see what you pick for this Colm.

I hope we'll be getting LFO “LFO [Leeds Warehouse Mix]” and Orbital “Chime” and maybe a bit of Blue Pearl “Naked In The Rain”. But LFO is ESSENTIAL.

Updated above

I have 19 tracks in common with the anniversary Now 1990 released in 1993, which happens to be one of my favourite Now albums for sequencing and song selection.

Ooh, so Deee-lite did make it in the end then! I am very pleased about that naturally.

Predictably I'm favouring Disc 1, if not for the Together/LFO/Orbital/Bass-o-Matic/DNA power punch but the lead out from Depeche Mode. <3 (it couldn't be anything else really?)

A few I don't know so I'll seek those out. Will you be aiming to do similar for the rest of the 1990s?
