September 30, 20213 yr I'm a big fan of 1992 - dance music was utterly destroying every other genre. I don't like 1992 for the same reason.
October 11, 20213 yr Author I'm gonna comment on some official compilations in this thread too. I've recently furnished my collection with some of the 10th Anniversary Now albums, on CD, that came out in mid-1993. I had Now 1987 from years ago but purchased editions 1988 to 1992 from my local Amazon to expand on the era. As always, I tut audibly at the sequencing - sometimes they don't make the best of what they have an Now headquarters. Sometimes they get it very right. I'll start with Now 1991. CD 1 1 Queen Bohemian Rhapsody 2 The Waterboys The Whole Of The Moon 3 James Sit Down 4 The Clash Should I Stay Or Should I Go 5 Living Colour Love Rears Its Ugly Head 6 Scorpions Wind Of Change 7 Mike And The Mechanics* Word Of Mouth 8 Roxette Joyride 9 The Wonderstuff* Size Of A Cow 10 Simply Red Something Got Me Started 11 Lenny Kravitz It Ain't Over Till It's Over 12 PM Dawn* Set Adrift On Memory Bliss 13 Crystal Waters Gypsy Woman 14 Amy Grant Baby Baby 15 The Source featuring Candi Staton You Got The Love 16 Zucchero & Paul Young Senza Una Donna (Without A Woman) 17 Oleta Adams Get Here 18 Julian Lennon Saltwater` 19 Beverley Craven Promise Me CD2 1 Right Said Fred I'm Too Sexy 2 Salt-n-Pepa* Let's Talk About Sex 3 Cathy Dennis Touch Me (All Night Long) 4 Rozalla Everybody's Free (To Feel Good) 5 Oceanic Insanity 6 2 Unlimited Get Ready For This 7 The Shamen Move Any Mountain (Progen '91) 8 The KLF featuring The Children Of The Revolution 3 AM Eternal 9 Heavy D & The Boyz* Now That We've Found Love 10 C & C Music Factory* Things That Make You Go Hmmm 11 DJ Jazzy Jeff And The Fresh Prince* Summertime 12 Enigma Sadness Part 1 13 Zoe* Sunshine On A Rainy Day 14 Seal Crazy 15 Kenny Thomas Thinking About Your Love 16 Jason Donovan Any Dream Will Do 17 Erasure Love To Hate You 18 Kylie Minogue Shocked 19 OMD* Sailing On The Seven Seas 20 Vic Reeves & The Wonderstuff* Dizzy 21 Monty Python Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life I'll do my commenting tomorrow. Just putting this in the thread for others to comment, if they wish.

December 11, 20213 yr Author My revised list for Now 1991. I've removed 3 tracks. The Wonderstuff* Size Of A Cow -They already feature with Vic Reeves. Bin! Living Colour Love Rears Its Ugly Head - Pointless, and hardly anyone remembers it. Cue a Buzzjacker saying it's great. Monty Python Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life - Awful. Added U2 - The Fly - no explanation needed Massive Attack - Unfinished Sympathy - no explanation needed Marc Cohen - Walking In Memphis - definite 1991 classic. Songs in bold were moved from the other disc. DISC 1 1 Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody 2 The Clash - Should I Stay Or Should I Go 3 U2 - The Fly 4 James - Sit Down 5 The Waterboys - The Whole Of The Moon 6 Vic Reeves & The Wonderstuff* - Dizzy 7 Lenny Kravitz - It Ain't Over Till It's Over 8 Seal - Crazy 9 Simply Red - Something Got Me Started 10 Zoe - Sunshine On A Rainy Day 11 Roxette - Joyride 12 Amy Grant - Baby Baby 13 Kylie Minogue - Shocked 14 Cathy Dennis - Touch Me (All Night Long) 15 Erasure - Love To Hate You 16 OMD - Sailing On The Seven Seas 17 Jason Donovan - Any Dream Will Do 18 Mike And The Mechanics* - Word Of Mouth 19 Marc Cohen - Walking In Memphis DISC 2 1 Right Said Fred I'm Too Sexy 2 Salt-n-Pepa* Let's Talk About Sex 3 Crystal Waters Gypsy Woman 4 The Source featuring Candi Staton You Got The Love 5 Rozalla Everybody's Free (To Feel Good) 6 Oceanic Insanity 7 2 Unlimited Get Ready For This 8 The Shamen Move Any Mountain (Progen '91) 9 The KLF featuring The Children Of The Revolution 3 AM Eternal 10 Heavy D & The Boyz* Now That We've Found Love 11 C & C Music Factory* Things That Make You Go Hmmm 12 DJ Jazzy Jeff And The Fresh Prince* Summertime 13 PM Dawn* Set Adrift On Memory Bliss 14 Massive Attack Unfinished Sympathy 15 Enigma Sadness Part 1 16 Kenny Thomas Thinking About Your Love 17 Zucchero & Paul Young Senza Una Donna (Without A Woman) 18 Julian Lennon Saltwater 19 Scorpions Wind Of Change 20 Beverley Craven Promise Me 21 Oleta Adams Get Here Disc 1 is very clunky, almost self consciously all over the place. The Clash should definitely have followed Bohemian Rhapsody. I don't know why the decided to separate The Source and Crystal Waters from the rest of the dance music. Disc 2 is much more fulfilling.

September 16, 20231 yr Well there’s not a single song on there that I don’t enjoy. I probably think of ‘Moods’ style stuff as more new age kind of things than most of the indie/trip hop adjacent songs on there, albeit I stretched it a bit on my own version with Gorecki etc. That Moby track is a good shout though, think I’ll replace something on mine with that.
September 16, 20231 yr Author Absolutely. I do have less world music than would normally be on a moods album.

October 6, 20231 yr Ooh, so Deee-lite did make it in the end then! I am very pleased about that naturally. Predictably I'm favouring Disc 1, if not for the Together/LFO/Orbital/Bass-o-Matic/DNA power punch but the lead out from Depeche Mode. <3 (it couldn't be anything else really?) A few I don't know so I'll seek those out. Will you be aiming to do similar for the rest of the 1990s?
