July 21, 20213 yr Author All clubs have had poor recruitment over the years, pre-Klopp Liverpool's transfer policy was all over the place, Man Utd regularly wasted millions and even seems to forget Pep's obsession with spending £50m on full backs every season! Everton's transfer policy has been by far the worst, they're still stuck in that mentality that they're part of the big boys challenging for Europe every season. They used to survive by selling one of their better assets every odd season (Rodwell, Barkley, Lukaku, Stones, Fellani, Lescott) - problem they have now is they have a squad full of players all the top clubs didn't want (Gomes, James, Digne, Mina, Allan) and their big two sellable assets in Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison - none of the big clubs play with a #9 really and Richarlison is sooo streaky.
July 21, 20213 yr Author What you make of Jared Bowen Rooney? I think he's a good player, I don't think the links have any substance to them though. We feed out false information ever since the Virgil debacle and don't give any of the UK based journalists anything related to transfer targets. Fits a few boxes for us though and is association trained so it could be true.
July 27, 20213 yr @1420081351940792323 Well well well. The Woodward free transfer structure seems to be actually functioning
July 27, 20213 yr Really? I mean he’s a good player but only certain teams can buy players like Varane. Means yous will win the league now I guess, no pressure though Edited July 27, 20213 yr by steve201
July 27, 20213 yr Tottenham have signed winger Bryan Gil from Sevilla, with Erik Lamela joining the Spanish side in a swap-plus-cash deal. Spurs will also pay Sevilla £21.6m for Gil,
July 28, 20213 yr Really? I mean he’s a good player but only certain teams can buy players like Varane. Means yous will win the league now I guess, no pressure though Lol you say we're gonna win the league every season. Still a mile off City and a fully-fit Liverpool in terms of consistently getting results but these are 2 really promising signings. Again, much like Chelsea last season you can't just buy a load of star players, throw them all in and expect to dominate straight away.
July 28, 20213 yr Author 34m and 250k a week. Plenty of teams could afford him All the reports I've seen is Varane is on 250k a week NET. He's on about 450k per week gross. He's on a shitload! Varane is a great signing. Will be interesting to see how Maguire steps up as Varane is not a leader, but he adds good pace and is certainly better than Lindelof. While I don't think Utd are as good as City/Liverpool there can be no excuses from here on in.. if Utd are not challenging for the title and within 3-5 points come May then there is something seriously wrong.
July 28, 20213 yr chiesa to liverpool seems the hot take, he just began following trent, mane and salah on insta too

July 28, 20213 yr Author  Im doing that on purpose :P Good a chance as anyone like, we all know Peps teams fall apart after a good season! They would have a much better chance if Ole wasn't at the helm. It will be interesting to see how he adapts to the pressure as if they sign a midfielder (which I suspect they will) they have got all their 'key' signings that Ole and pundits have saying they needed. I agree with Dobbo's comments that you can't just expect players to gel, but there are lots of recent examples where teams have spent big (Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool) and have either won the League or the Champions League in the same season.
July 28, 20213 yr Agreed, there’s only one result United fans will demand now! They splash the cash every season though. Wonder what will happen with Pogba considering his contract ends next summer!
July 28, 20213 yr Crystal Palace have completed the signing of Denmark international defender Joachim Andersen on a five-year deal. The 25-year-old centre-back joins Palace from Lyon after a competing in the Euro 2020 semi-final this summer.
July 30, 20213 yr Author Telegraph claiming City have bid £100m for Grealish. I must say I do find it a weird one, sportswashing at its finest. I like him a lot, but I do find he's overrated. Not sure where he fits in to the City side either? Playing him and KDB in midfield is weak and not sure he scores enough goals to be in the front 3 consistently. Must mean Bernardo Silva is on his bike regardless.
July 30, 20213 yr Silva is a quality player imo, I’d take him at Liverpool. Grealish doesn’t fit in the city team for me either just seems like they are spending for spendings sake. Wish a player like him would just stay at villa - spread the quality through the division!
July 30, 20213 yr Very unusual for City to spend crazy amounts on anyone too given their record signing is "only" £64M which is dwarfed by the European giants.
