July 31, 20214 yr Author Grealish is incredibly overrated. If I was Villa I would happily accept that tbh, I just don’t see where grealish fits into the city team right now I think he fits in to that Mahrez/Bernardo Silva role. I think Grealish is overrated but he is a good player. Is he £100m? No, definitely not but he signed a massive contract last season I think, so Villa can ask that for him. I think Grealish now is to a similar level Mahrez was when he left Leicester, but Mahrez had a higher goals and assist output. Is Grealish better than Bernardo Silva? Debateable really, I'm not sure he is if you seperate the shiny new toy and recency bias picture from them. Grealish is undoubtedly a good player, but I genuinely fail to see how he massively improves City.
August 3, 20214 yr Villa fan here, definitely agree that Grealish isn't worth £100M but to us he's worth way more. He's class for us but I don't see how he'll fit into City's setup. I think even Kane is a weird choice for them, it just seems to be buying their opponents best players instead of finding a striker that would be able to find the net. Kane is unnecessary in my opinion, Tammy Abraham could do the same job that they are looking for. This saga is super frustrating though. Absolutely no communication from the club, so fans are left second guessing what's happening. No journalist leaks really either. It's just crazy, I've not really known much like this before where there's no clue as to what's happening. On Sky Bet, Jack is favourite to leave again after being remain last night. Only time will tell I guess.

Only time will tell I guess. Grealish and Kane both seem like complete sportswashing signings. The type of signings which will create a love and new fanbase for the club. £120m for Kane is nothing if it creates a legacy of City fans. The word seems to be that City can only really afford Kane or Grealish. There's been a suggestion that the Grealish bid being so public was leaked to put pressure on Kane. No idea how true this is, I suspect it's somewhere in the middle. Think Kane has really gone about this the wrong way, but it's clear he is absolutely desperate to move.
August 4, 20214 yr I have zero sympathy for Kane given he signed a SIX year contract in 2018? You can't do that and throw a hissy fit half way into that. So much for being a "model professional" like all the pundits try to have us believe.
August 4, 20214 yr Manchester City are close to agreeing £100million deal to sign Jack Grealish from Aston Villa. :puke:
August 4, 20214 yr I still don’t see how he’s worth that much cash, is actually that good in the first place or how he even fits into city. Absolutely baffling buy. The blue scum will always have cash to throw around for as long as uefa continues to take a lol approach to FFP regs which City make a complete mockery of And have done since a literal country bought them as a sports washing pr exercise. Get dodgy oil funded countries and oligarchs out of the prem pls.

Get dodgy oil funded countries and oligarchs out of the prem pls. Another Rooney and Silas agreement shocker! I am just not sure how he improves City that much. I guess they could play him and KDB as #8s - they'd pummel the smaller teams, but against the Top teams they'd get torn to shreds with that. City just casually spending £250m - I really do think the Premier League risks becoming a complete one horse race if they don't tighten up the FFP rules. Everyone knows City cook the books with their salaries..
August 4, 20214 yr It's a serious joke how rich they are. Aston Villa have rich owners but it shouldn't be all about how much money you have. There needs to be stricter rules for those higher up and loosened rules for the smaller teams. FFP damages the smaller clubs in the country and then the giants get away with spending £250M and making 0 sales. Yeah, I think the point about making a new fanbase is true. Grealish will get a lot of teenage girls on board with the club. Kane will bring goals to the club. It's a genius move really but I don't know how it's fair or even considered remotely ethical to other teams. That being said, we've just signed Leon Bailey and Danny Ings. Sounds like we're still chasing Todd Cantwell and James Ward-Prowse which will take our signings from Southampton and Norwich to 2 this season. What's said, is that the Villa fans have been crying about how this isn't fair (our captain being taken), and then our fans being absolutely toxic to the Norwich and Southampton fans. Football for you, eh? Interesting season ahead for sure

Football for you, eh? Interesting season ahead for sure Exactly, I'm all for teams spending the money if they make it commercially, but there is just no level playing field at all. City just throw money at the problem, see the legal battle with UEFA. I'm sure something has come out recently that the Premier League has a case open against them, but they are worried about a long legal fight as it will cost too much money. Villa have got some good signings on paper, I like their business. Only problem is we have seen loads of teams do this before and some signings work out, some don't. Trying to fit everyone in the team all at once will not be easy. Does that mean Watkins might play on the left wing now? Think football is always unfair unless you're City. There's always been a cycle of teams taking other team's best players and then a bigger club taking them from there. I completely get it if players want to win trophies, but there's also countless examples where players have gone to win trophies but haven't been accepted by the fans in the same way.

City just casually spending £250m - I really do think the Premier League risks becoming a complete one horse race if they don't tighten up the FFP rules. Everyone knows City cook the books with their salaries.. We’re starting to make a habit of this Like I can see in some limited circumstances that he would fit in but under most circumstances they already have a strong midfield And so to slot him in you have to take a cog out of a machine that works well And he’s not an improvement on anyone. Unless they’re planning to ship someone out Kane I can understand a little more as Aguero has gone And they need a goal line Poacher As an accountant I’d love to get my hands on the city books and tear them to shreds. But they’ll always keep on the right side technically by pumping sponsorship cash in. Shouldn’t be allowed to be sponsored by sister companies. They’ve pumped hundreds of millions in through over inflated sponsorship deals. They getting United And Liverpool sums with a tiny fraction of the support and history. It’s total BS. I imagine United are owed a lot of £ if Lukaku goes to Chelsea!only apparently like €5m
August 5, 20214 yr Author Messi leaving Barca again! Genuinely don't know where he goes though? City could drop Kane and get Messi, but no way they get Messi now imo unless they flog someone like Sterling or decide they actually don't want Harry Kane afterall.
August 5, 20214 yr Seen a tweet saying ‘if I had just bought Jack Grealish for 100m and Leo Messi appeared as a free transfer I would just restart Football Manager’ 😂 In all seriousness though City are the only team in the PL that can afford him and PSG outside, maybe Juve too. But MLS after that! Imagine trying to keep all them queens at PSG happy like Ramos, Neymar and the likes!
August 5, 20214 yr Author Gutted :( £100m is a great piece of business, you've robbed City blind with that price. No way is he worth a British transfer record. To think Spurs almost signed him for peanuts 3 years ago I think!
