The Pitt reference was personal, of course—Martin had been married to Pitt’s former fiancée Gwyneth Paltrow—but his self-assessment still felt remarkably apt: Coldplay isn’t just one of the most popular bands in the world, but also torchbearers for a kind of mainstream art-rock whose roots reach back through Radiohead, U2, Pink Floyd and even The Beatles. Yes, the music is anthemic enough to fill arenas—“Clocks”, “Speed of Sound”, “Paradise”, “A Sky Full of Stars”—but detailed and atmospheric, too, stretching the conventions of modern rock without ever losing the emotional thread. Formed in London in the mid-’90s, the band debuted with 2000’s Parachutes. Seasons have changed—the arty experiments of 2008’s Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends, the electro-rush of 2011’s Mylo Xyloto, the eclecticism of 2019’s Everyday Life—but the core of their sound has been consistent: Propulsive, uplifting, grand but vulnerable. In crowded bars and lonely bedrooms, the effect is more or less the same: At the end of the day, Coldplay came for the heart. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 1999 92 Brothers & Sisters -NAS- 2000 35 Shiver -1- 2000 04 Yellow -2- MILLIONAIRE 2000 10 Trouble -3- 2002 02 In My Place -1- 2002 10 The Scientist -2- MILLIONAIRE 2003 09 Clocks -3- 2003 87 Remixes -EP- 2003 100 God Put A Smile On Your Face -4- 2005 02 Speed Of Sound -1- 2005 04 Fix You -2- MILLIONAIRE 2005 10 Talk -3- 2008 08 Violet Hill -1- 2008 54 Lost! -3- 2008 01 Viva La Vida -2- MILLIONAIRE 2009 28 Life In Technicolor II -4- 2010 88 A Message 2010 13 Christmas Lights -NAS- 2011 06 Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall -1- 2011 01 Paradise -2- MILLION SELLER 2011 04 Princess Of China (Coldplay & Rihanna) -4- 2011 22 Charlie Brown -3- 2013 12 Atlas -OST- 2014 10 Magic -1- 2014 48 Midnight -IG- 2014 09 A Sky Full Of Stars -2- MILLIONAIRE 2014 70 Another's Arms -AT- 2014 95 Miracles -OST- 2015 07 Adventure Of A Lifetime -1- MILLIONAIRE 2015 52 Everglow -4- 2016 06 Hymn For The Weekend -2- MILLIONAIRE 2016 71 Up&Up -3- 2017 02 Something Just Like This (The Chainsmokers & Coldplay) -1- MILLIONAIRE 2017 70 Hypnotised -PS- 2017 54 Miracles (Someone Special) (Coldplay & Big Sean) -2- 2019 27 Orphans -1- 2019 93 Champion Of The World -AT- 2019 94 Church -AT- 2021 12 Higher Power -1- 2 x #1 | 8 x Top 5 | 18 x Top 10 | 21 x Top 20 | 25 x Top 40 | 39 x Top 100 Social Media Coldplay http://i.imgur.com/1SERq1f.png

Born Anne-Marie Nicholson in Essex in 1991, the singer/songwriter never thought she’d make it far beyond her small village, but she was already making waves in London as a child, performing in prestigious West End theatre productions and becoming a karate world champion. Such ambitions undoubtedly helped prepare her for major festival stages—which she’d soon dominate as a rising vocalist in the electronic music world. After being discovered by Elton John’s management company, Rocket Music, in 2013, Anne-Marie lent her skyscraping vocals to tracks by dubstep/DJ supergroup Magnetic Man, garage duo Gorgon City and drum ‘n’ bass hitmakers Rudimental, who invited her to guest on their 2015 album We the Generation and join their extensive world tour. Going forward, she’s been a go-to vocalist and songwriter, pairing up with artists like Snakehips, James Arthur, Nick Jonas, David Guetta and Lauv. But her biggest breakthrough came in 2016 with Clean Bandit, whose single “Rockabye” with dancehall superstar Sean Paul became a multi-platinum global smash, largely thanks to Anne-Marie’s honeyed croons and playful lyrics, which offer an empowering twist on single motherhood. Since releasing her 2018 debut album, Speak Your Mind, the singer has been building up an enviable catalogue of self-love odes (“Perfect to Me”), sassy club bangers (Marshmello collab “FRIENDS”), nostalgic pop love songs (“2002”, co-written with Ed Sheeran) and throbbing coming-of-age anthems (the Doja Cat-featuring “To Be Young”). Even as a solo star, she continues to have no qualms about sharing the spotlight. “I just think collaborations are beautiful,” she told Apple Music. “I don’t think collaborations will ever stop with me.” - Apple Music Niall Horan If you want to see something sweet, have a look back at Niall Horan’s 2010 audition for the The X Factor. The swoop of bleached hair, the boyish jitters, the idea that he was gonna become the Irish Justin Bieber and it was all—going—to—start—today. Of course, things worked out a little differently, but if teaming up with a few other contestant runoffs and starting a group—One Direction—that went on to break Beatles-level records is your consolation prize, you probably came out okay. Not that Horan had a lot of time to think about it. “When it was happening, it was like we were in our own little bubble and everyone else was outside it,” he told Apple Music on the occasion of his second solo album, 2020’s Heartbreak Weather. “I didn’t realize the phenomenon. Like, apart from the fact that we played to 60,000 people every night.” Born in Westmeath, Ireland in 1993, Horan grew up listening to stuff like Fleetwood Mac, the Eagles, and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young—influences not immediately apparent in One Direction but that surfaced in his solo career. His first album, 2017’s Flicker, didn’t cling to youth. If anything, Horan—like Ed Sheeran—proved himself one of those artists capable of riding the divide between a teenage audience and a decidedly adult one, crafting earnest, uplifting folk-pop with a slight modern shimmer. Heartbreak Weather took the sound a step further, incorporating soul, dance, and classic pop-rock. Not that he’s aiming for cool. If anything, what makes Horan appealing is that he feels more like an Everyman than a rockstar—the boy from around the way who made good. Good thing he didn’t win after all. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History Anne-Marie 2015 67 Rumour Mill (Rudimental feat. June 11, 20215 yr 20 | 14 | 9th week Rag'n'Bone Man and P!nk Anywhere Away From Here 2nd single from Life By Misadventure Released: 9th April 2021 Label: Sony Music Entertainment UK Chart Statistics NE (22/04/2021) | 32-51-32-31-9-9-11-14-20 Sales: 100k+ Certification: - Status: Standard Chart Ratio 01 Sales 23 Audio Streaming 12 Video Streaming Video KolxHYDgQcU Biography Rag'n'Bone Man As a bearded bloke with a great big voice trading under the unabashedly old-fashioned name of Rag’n’Bone Man, Rory Graham shattered the mould for music stars who broke out of in the 2010s. Then again, he was bound to break something given the power that pours out of him on “Human”, his debut single in 2016. The fusion of blues and hip-hop established the singer/songwriter—born in 1985 in the town of Uckfield—as one of the decade’s most unique new arrivals. It’s also an arresting showcase for the booming baritone that Graham himself was surprised to discover when he tried singing a Muddy Waters song at an open mic in the mid-2000s. Until then, he’d spent his teenage years rapping for hip-hop and drum ‘n’ bass crews in his hometown. His take on vintage blues—as well as soul and funk, two words he has tattooed on knuckles—still reflects his love of the more modern sounds and sensibilities provided by collaborators like producer Two Inch Punch a.k.a. Ben Ash on Rag’n’Bone’s 2017 debut album Human. With “Giant”—a 2019 match-up with Calvin Harris—Graham got another chance to show how his old-school gusto and soulful delivery can heighten a song’s intensity without overwhelming it or blunting its pop appeal. Even with all of Graham’s potential force, he knows the value of restraint, too. - Apple Music P!nk From the start, P!nk made it her business to be different: “Tired of being compared to damn Britney Spears,” she sang on 2001’s “Don’t Let Me Get Me". “She’s so pretty/That just ain’t me.” Even as she rose in fame, she retained the whiff of an outsider—someone too frank, too unapologetic, too real for the show: not an icon, but a human being. As a girl, P!nk (born Alecia Beth Moore in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, in 1979) loved Madonna and Janis Joplin, and tried her hand at opera, show tunes and punk rock. She started performing in clubs as a teenager, taking her name from Steve Buscemi’s "Mr. Pink” character in the Quentin Tarantino film Reservoir Dogs: quippy, edgy, ready for trouble. After the demise of her first group, Choice, which was briefly signed to LaFace Records, P!nk released her 2000 debut, Can’t Take Me Home, co-writing more than half the album’s tracks. A year later, she released M!ssundaztood, a leap forward both artistically and commercially, bridging the immediacy of club pop with songs that were confessional, genuine, frustrated and raw (“Family Portrait”, “Just Like a Pill”). That style paved the way for artists like Halsey, Kesha and just about every other major female pop star in her wake. While her attitude was central to her appeal—whether she was tilting towards rock on 2003’s Try This or tipping back to dance on 2006’s I’m Not Dead—what really set her apart was her versatility: It was hard to imagine another singer capable of tackling something as bitterly sarcastic as “I Got Money Now” (“You don’t have to like me anymore/I’ve got money now”) and then shifting, with total credibility, to “Dear Mr. President” or “Who Knew”—who could be a punk one minute and an embracing, almost maternal comfort the next. She also set new standards as a live act, incorporating aerial dance and acrobatics into her extravagant stage shows. (Check out her performance of “Sober” at the 2009 VMAs for proof.) In 2012, The Truth About Love marked another career high, tackling marriage, parenthood and the heft of Real Adult Emotions with a frankness that was funny, touching and refreshingly unsentimental (“It’s whispered by the angels’ lips,” she sang on the title track, “and it can turn you into a son of a bitch”). Speaking to Beats 1 host Zane Lowe about 2019’s Hurts 2B Human, she described the album’s title track in classic P!nk fashion—welcoming, human, but with an edge: “Everybody is going through something. And the point is, it’s all about your village, it’s all about your people, and the circle you create around you to get through all the bullshit in this world.” - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History Rag'n'Bone Man 2016 02 Human -1- MILLIONAIRE 2017 13 Skin -2- MILLIONAIRE 2018 83 Grace (We All Try) -3- 2018 55 Run (Bugzy Malone feat. So that’s what I did.” Not only did the “it” in question—“Old Town Road”—become a global phenomenon (and 2019 Apple Music Award winner for Song of the Year), it prompted surprisingly pertinent conversations about how we define and classify music. Was it country? Was it rap? Cowboy anthem or LGBTQ camp? TikTok novelty or legitimate pop song? It was, of course, all those things, and pity those who couldn’t live with the contradictions. Born Montero Lamar Hill in 1999, Nas grew up outside Atlanta but came of age on the internet, turning to social media and meme-making out of boredom and teenage loneliness—feelings compounded by his struggle to resolve his sexuality. (He later became the first artist to come out while his record was at No. 1, though he’d figured that between the rhinestones and rainbows and the general vibe, it would’ve been obvious.) “I didn’t know it was gonna do what it did,” he said of “Old Town Road” and its companion EP, 7. “But it did what it did.” - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2019 01 Old Town Road -1- MILLIONAIRE 2019 21 Panini -2- 2019 55 Rodeo (Lil Nas X & Cardi B) -AT- 2020 23 HOLIDAY -1- 2021 01 MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name) -2- 2021 42 SUN GOES DOWN -3- 2 x #1 | 2 x Top 5 | 2 x Top 10 | 2 x Top 20 | 4 x Top 40 | 6 x Top 100 Social Media Lil Nas X http://i.imgur.com/1SERq1f.png
