This is OK, but it's basically entirely down to Topic.

When are we getting that MNEK collab that actually sounded quite decent?

I think the MNEK collab was fake unfortunately. I remember them saying their third album was due in autumn so hopefully there is something better on there. However they kept saying the second album was nearly done for years so I'm no holding out hope.

I must admit, I like it more than I expected for a Wes Nelson collaboration, it's a better track than Higher IMO. It's still below their usual standard though :(
I'd say this is possibly the worst yet? Higher at least had a nice melody to it and sounded good acoustically with GRACEY. This just feels so lacklustre? Like I just can't picture the scenario this song is for? Even Wes sounds quite muted and low energy compared to his vocals in his two singles so far.
Strange decision of theirs to basically abandon their USP for generic Spotify playlist fodder that most people do better than them.
They’ve really went downhill since leaving Black Butter for Warner, everything this era has been below par although Higher was a bit of a tune but nothing in comparison to what about love singles

This is already 59p on iTunes

I think we all just have to accept that their sound has changed distinctly from 2014/15. It's nothing new, go and listen to their second album again from a few years back and the album tracks will show you that start of a change in sound. Fans will complain either way I think. Some would moan that this is too different, others would moan if they'd kept their original sound that they're boring with no progression, sometimes you can't win.

I actually quite like this. Took me a while to get into Tick Tock and I hated Higher so I'm pleasantly surprised by this. It really does feel like a Topic track with some strings thrown in though.

I have no objection to them changing their sound… it’s simply that the songs aren’t good. Nor were most of the album tracks on their last album though so I do agree that it started there.

I mean, does anyone actually like or want this new direction from them? It’s not like they’re having success and the “purists” are complaining, it’s more that everyone is wanting to like them but they’re not giving us anything decent to latch on to. The new songs are pretty much all flopping and deservedly so.

I can see their label start to interfere more with them and make them release certain songs as I think they have had a lot of control over what songs they put out due to their previous success rate.

The issue is that without the big hit singles they don't really have a presence, as they don't have a fanbase. The only reason the last album did well and got certified Gold was because of all of the big singles so I can see the next album performing very badly in comparison.

I always think that since the departure of Neil Amin-Smith, they started going downhill. Symphony is the last track with Neil Amin-Smith's input and since then, their quality has been declining.

Neil was last credited on Tears so I'm pretty sure that's the last track he had input in.

#72 in todays update. Not looking likely to stay top 100 this week.

After the initial disappointment this has deffo grown on me also. It's still not as good as their previous hits but it's not bad. Not convinced it'll be a hit though, but I guess that depends on being added to HHUK or Radio 1.

The video is out tomorrow at 10am so that might help a bit.
