I much prefer Don't Stop (Wiggle Wiggle) to Boom Boom Boom.

Three Lions 98 Baddiel/ Skinner/ Lightning Seeds (Voter: Jade) #1 for 3 weeks in June/July 1998

It’s the less popular “3 lions” for sure.

She's The One Robbie Williams (Voter: Last Dreamer) #1 for 1 week in November 1999

Two down and 1 to go for Robbie!

NO 153- 12 POINTS

Don't Stop (Wiggle Wiggle) Outhere Brothers (voter: Jimwatts- 12 points) #1 for 1 week in April 1995

The second Outhere Brothers track leaves us

Don't Stop now that was certainly the WAP of the 90s, albeit not half as clever lyrically.

I always find it confusing how significantly different the two versions of Don’t Stop (Wiggle Wiggle) are.

She’s The One is nice enough.

She's the One is nice indeed, would have voted for if if allowed more songs. All 4 singles from Robbie's album 2 were pretty good.
How the hell Robson and Jerome made number one for 7 weeks with that I’ll never know!

It was double AA single with well-known "Unchained Melody". :)

Ah silly me forgetting that, not that their version was good but it’s one that the public would buy into as Cowell no doubt knew.

Unchained melody Righteous Brothers a big loss - I googled 90's on my all time list and just picked out the number ones - and forgot that was down as 1965 oops! Ah well, it would have been a bit higher on the list....

Quite like the Boyzone Drum track, 3 Lions 98, and most of the others are "novelty" :P

NO 149- 13 POINTS

Healing Hands Elton John (Voter: Popchartfreak- 6 points, Gezza- 7 points)- #1 for 5 weeks in June/July 1990

Three down and 2 to go for Elton with this being the least preferred side of the double A-Side.

I Wanna Sex You Up Color Me Badd (Voter: Hide&Seek- 6 points, Ready For It- 7 points)- #1 for 3 weeks in June 1991

Seems we don’t all want to be sexed up- whatever that entails

All Around The World Oasis (Voter: Riser)- #1 for 1 week in January 1998

MTwCblz.jpg

Oasis’ least popular No 1- they have three other offerings though.

I Have A Dream Westlife (Voter: Last Dreamer)- #1 for 3 weeks in December 1999

Westlife lose a 4th No 1 leaving them with only 1 track left in the running.

‘All Around The World’ my favourite from this bunch, def a song which has grown overtime into one of the bands favourites!

I would have voted for All Around The World if I had more points to give but although I like it, I don’t think it’s one of their absolute best and I didn’t want to blindly vote on fanbase lines.

All Around the World is one of their worst singles for me, it’s way too overblown and goes on for far too long with very little substance.

I’m not sure I’ve ever heard Healing Hands :o

I love Oasis, but All Around the World is a stinker. Tries to be anthemic and epic, Hey Jude style with it's length but it's so repetitive and empty and clearly stretched out for the sake of it, the fact Noel hates most of that album now says it all!
...well, AATW is my fave of Oasis' 90s #1s :P Surprised but glad to have rescued it from 0 points!

I like the Oasis song, nothing that some judicious editing couldn't help improve it a bit more, :teresa:

Elton is fabulous. Both healing hands and Sacrifice flopped in the UK in 1989, but topped my charts because it's Elton at his 80's best, gospel and ballad. Sacrifice hogged all the airplay in 1990 of course, but both are great and I feel justified in supporting Elton when he couldn't sell a fig cos I'm not fickle like the latest-trend-chasing music biz is :P Sacrifice back yet again, of course, as we speak...

I still like Sex You Up, and I'm not apologising for it...

I Have A Dream. If only Another Brick In The Wall had debuted pre-Xmas 1999 instead of pre-Xmas 1979 - Abba would have topped the chart and Westlife wouldn't :teresa:
