Posted August 4, 20213 yr Welcome to the Steps: The Singles World Cup Game! Thank you to the Steps AF mods for giving me the go ahead to run this game. For those of you that frequent the Little Mix AF you may or may not have seen the Little Mix: Singles version of this over the last month or so. For those of you that are not familiar I will run you through all you need to know. How this will work is that Steps singles along with the winners of the 'Album Tracks poll' will compete in a World Cup style game to see which song will be crowned the winner. There will be 8 groups of 4 songs each which means 32 songs in total will feature in the Group Stage. I have used the recently completed 'Singes Survivor' to rank the Singles from 1-29. The top 24 I have automatically qualified through to the Group Stage along with new single Take Me For A Ride. This means that 25 of the 32 places have been filled. Later today I will start a new thread for the 'Qualifiers' where the 5 songs ranked 25-29 will go into a pool with all the Album Tracks winners and I'll be asking you to pick the 7 songs you'd like to see progress through to join the other 25 in the Group Stage. Once the 32 songs have been decided they will then be placed into groups and compete in three rounds of head to head matches where you will choose the song you prefer. The winner of each match in each round will receive 1 point (this is how the songs will be ranked in their groups as well as having their total votes tallied. This should help avoid ties. All Three rounds will take place separately, however all 8 Groups will compete at the same time. How to vote? When the round beings and the fixtures are posted in the thread simply post the name of the song you'd like to vote for, alternatively you could copy and paste the fixture and bold the song of your choice. The Following Rounds Once Stage 1 is complete and all three songs have faced off with the other songs in there group then the Top 2 from each group will progress to the 'Round of 16'. This will be a simple Knockout Stage where the 8 winners will progress. The final 8 will then play off in Knockout votes for a place in the Final 4. The two winners of that will meet in 'The Final' whilst the losers will fall into the '3rd Place Vote Off'. A Few Things - I will update the standings at the end of each round with results. - Songs will be ranked on number of wins with total votes acting as a tie breaker. *If wins and total votes are the same then the winner of the Head 2 Head will take the higher placing. - I will open a new thread for each round but also keep this one for Standings updates and a place for any general conversation. August 4, 20213 yr Author As I've mentioned I ran this on the Little Mix AF and thought I'd bring it across to the Steps AF page now as Steps are probably my all time favourite group. I hope to see as many of you taking part as possible and enjoying the game too.
