3rd - Love U More - 8.69

Highest Scores: 11 - Hide&Seek | 10 - JSG, Spiceboy

Lowest Scores: 5.5 - Herbs | 7.5 - GLOBALFUNQ

Love U More is a cover version of the 1992 dance single by Sunscreem - for them it was a Top 40 hit in the UK, Australia and the US. Steps' cover from 1998 wasn't given the single treatment, but it quickly solidified itself into being a huge fan favourite. A bonus video for it was included on their first VHS release, which I've linked above! Steps revisited the song in 2017, including it in their set list of the Party on the Dancefloor tour (within a medley that also featured You'll Be Sorry and After the Love Has Gone). It's the highest place album track in the rate results!

Which song do you think has won, Better Best Forgotten or One for Sorrow? Get your predictions in! Only 0.11 separates their average scores :o
Another solid album track, deserving of its placement. I'm guessing One For Sorrow will take this out.
Another great album track and worthy of its place although i do prefer back to you but this is so solid and like back to you i prefer it to some of their singles.

Oh, LTOMM 5th :o Deserved top 3 imo!

My rating for LYM should’ve been higher actually.

OFS for the win?

2nd - Better Best Forgotten - 9.62

Highest Score: 11 - Feel_The_Fever, JSG, spiceboy

Lowest Score: 8 - Aaron., Hide&Seek

In March 1999, Better Best Forgotten was selected to be the final single from Step One. Despite its inclusion on an album that had already sold almost 1 million copies, the single proved to be a major success for Steps! It entered at #2 with an impressive first week sale of 139,000 copies, which is the second highest of their career. It was only prevented from the top by that year's Comic Relief single by Boyzone. What is slightly frustrating is that one week later, B*Witched made it to #1 with only 90,000 sales. Bad timing for Steps! Better Best Forgotten is certified Gold for shipments of over 400,000 units, with its actual sales standing at 381,500 as of May 2021 - the group's fifth best seller. Steps often like to have a colour theme for their single releases, and for this single they went with blue!

1st - One for Sorrow - 9.73

Highest Score: 11 - …ready for it, GLOBALFUNQ, Nina West, PAJ

Lowest Score: 8 - Feel_The_Fever, Pippa

So here we have it, the winner of the Steps rate - One for Sorrow! This is certainly one of their signature songs. It's the single which really proved the group was here to stay, entering at #2 in the chart back in August 1998, with 140,000 sales. This grew to a total of 484,000 by May 2021 - third in their list of best sellers. Steps concerts are renowned for audience participation because many of their movements are simple and memorable, which certainly applies to One for Sorrow - arm stretched out and one finger pointing up for "one for sorrow", and then two fingers out for "ain't it too, too bad"! A classic pop song that in my opinion is very worthy of winning this rate.

Thank you to all of you who rated, I hope you enjoyed it - let us know what you think of the results!

Thanks for hosting Jay.

A very worthy winner winner, well top two honestly.

Both songs are absolute favourites of mine.

You're welcome PAJ  The Top 2 is actually my Top 2 from the album so I'm very pleased with the outcome!
Not an unexpected winner but a fair result, better best forgotten debut week sales were so good for a 5th single from a million selling album, it just shows how big they really were.

Love the top 3.

Especially love One For Sorrow. It's such a beautiful song 🥰🥰

The results turned out more less how I expected them to as well :cheer:
