December 11, 200619 yr Very true. :( Although I want to see Leona take #1 this year. :yahoo: Leona bucks all the trends, I have a feeling we will be going back to one-man Westlife formula next year :manson:
December 11, 200619 yr I fear so. :( We may not even have to wait until next year if Ray is releasing something as well. :manson:
December 11, 200619 yr I fear so. :( We may not even have to wait until next year if Ray is releasing something as well. :manson: Ray will just end up doing lots of West End, it was obvious from the start he would never get a proper musical career. I believe Leona will be the first X Factor winner who will stick around

I believe Leona will be the first X Factor winner who will stick around  I disagree about Leona sticking around. She is a huge talent - yes. However she is only the second ever woman to win a reality TV singing contest in the UK (after Michelle McManus) and if Michelle is anything to go by - Leona won't last too long. She really deserves to though, I just think it's a case of how Simon and co. are going to market her and what type of material they give her. If they try to turn her into the British Beyoncé it won't work, because it isn't believeable and come on we already have Jamelia and she is hardly doing amazingly. If they try to market her as the British Mariah Carey and have her singing ballad after ballad (like they did with Michelle) she will flop as well. I think her first 2 or 3 singles will do really well, but I don't hold out much hope for the album. :(

December 11, 200619 yr Mariah Carey would have charted at #5 today on the singles chart with All I Want For Christmas Is You if it had been chart eligible. According to the music week sales, it was actually #10. :P
December 11, 200619 yr lol #10 bit of a difference from #5! Its a good song though! So i suspect that Madge's confessions has dropped from last weeks #85 position then?!
December 11, 200619 yr Really gutted about Emma's flop but I hope and think that by the second single it will climb and hopefully get top 40 at least. Her single 'Downtown' is really surprisingly doing really well and holding up fantastically which for CIN records is often quite unusual. Ok let this not offend anybody, but I've got a feeling that Embrace may be in trouble. As much as I like them, out of four singles released from 'This New Day' they have only had one hit single and three flops. I at the time of The World Cup liked it but 'World At Your Feet' really has done them no favours whatsoever and that fell out of the charts incredibly quickly and 'Target' and now 'I Can't Come Down' really have flopped especially 'I Can't Come Down' which has completely missed the top 40. I know it got to number one but I'm not sure how well it has sold however, I've got a bit of a gut feeling that they may be dropped sometime in the near future. Also, as much as I like him and all his solo stuff I fear that despite winning I'm A Celebrity, Matt Willis and his latest single 'Don't Let It Go To Waste' may only just scrape top 20 if even that although it is a really good song and I hope it does well though I honestly can't see him getting the top 10 single which he really does need. If he does only just scrape top 20 and the album dosn't climb much then sadly I fear he's over and done with. I'm A Celebrity did nothing for Anthony Costa besides a narrow scraping top 20 single and getting him dropped. PS Leona will never last and if he dosn't win which he won't, Ray dosn't stand a chance of getting a record deal and really is west end panto boy. The biggest and most successful long term winners of this years X Factor will be Ben and Eton Road hopefully.

OK, now I'm not an Embrace fan by any stretch of the imagination but I fail to see how you think they will be dropped. Their singles chart runs usually follow the same formula, with the first two doing well and the next two not doing so well, so I fail to see how they will be dropped for doing it this time - most labels don't really give a damn about singles, it's the albums that matter for them and Embrace have done quite well in the albums so I severely doubt they are going to be dropped. It's getting rather tiring you predicting someone will be dropped if they have a flop single to be honest.

It's getting rather tiring you predicting someone will be dropped if they have a flop single to be honest. They've only really had one hit single from the album all the others have done poorly. Also, I don't constantly predict people will be dropped if they have a flop single and the ones which I do I feel are fairly realistic.
December 11, 200619 yr I hate Embrace, but I heard a track from the album called 'No Use Crying' which was excellent, they're fools for not releasing that.
December 11, 200619 yr I've a feeling that the lead singer of Embrace whatever his name is, could do ok as a solo artist. He could be more of a albums artist than singles artist and I feel he would do ok as that. However, thats if it isn't a huge label.
December 11, 200619 yr They've only really had one hit single from the album all the others have done poorly. Also, I don't constantly predict people will be dropped if they have a flop single and the ones which I do I feel are fairly realistic. Hits singles don't mean a fig if the album did well, which it has done, so there's no danger there of Embrace being dropped. And as for your predictions, here they all are plus their results: Embrace: No Fergie: No Alesha (LOTS of dropping predictions): Not dropped, left and joined another label for better promotion Simon Webbe: No Richard Ashcroft: No Rooster: No Sarah Harding of Girls Aloud (claimed they had split and went on to predict her solo career): No, didn't even go solo  Son of Dork: No Fightstar: Left for another label, weren't dropped That's a lot of predictions, all wrong, you're almost as bad as Victoria Newton
December 11, 200619 yr Embrace wont be dropped after having a platinum selling #1 album! What a ludricrous suggestion! The singles positions do not matter as much as Albums.
December 11, 200619 yr That's a lot of predictions, all wrong, you're almost as bad as Victoria Newton  He is, I think perhaps JON's Crystal Ball is a bit broken!
