Devon and Cornwall Police were called to Biddick Drive in the Keyham area at about 18:10 BST on Thursday.

The force said: "There have been a number of fatalities at the scene and several other casualties are receiving treatment."

Plymouth Moor View MP Johnny Mercer tweeted it was "not terror-related" and the suspect was not on the run.

6 have died including the shooter and a child. Horrible stuff. :(

Dreadful, in a city I know well too.

Thinking of the victims and all those poor people in a terrorised city tonight :(

Apparently the three in the house were relatives of his but the others, including a young girl were strangers. In a Youtube video, seen by the BBC but now taken down, he complained of his lack of success in finding a girlfriend and blamed all women in general for that and compared himself to The Terminator on a mission.

I think if guns were more freely available in this country we'd have far more killings like this as there seems to be many angry people about. Luckily it's not that easy to get a gun.

EDIT. Girl was 3 and died alongside her dad. Terrible. :(

He killed his mother too. Matricide has to be one of the worst crimes.

Sounds very incel.

Yes, the BBC report said so.

He apparently called himself that in the video.

Not sure why this isn’t terrorism when Incels are internet radicalised young men who carry out a violent attack. The only thing that’s different between this guy and what the media would readily term a terrorist is skin colour and ideology. Just coz it’s a white boy with misogynistic views doesn’t mean it’s not terrorism.

Yeah, Incels are much more prevalent these days and can't keep being declared 'lone wolf' incidents, especially when they have a clear ideology that leads to terror-based attacks which this one clearly had an interest in.

Horrible to hear, can't believe a child was involved, RIP to the victims and thoughts with everyone shaken by this :(

100% agree with above. This QAnon/anti vax/anti Islamic/anti trans movement with emphasis on Christianity (although their message couldn't be any more different from Jesus Christ) is developing into just as bad a cult as ISIS etc

Incels are very resonant as a terror group with me, because they are created in online spaces that we have the ability to access - this guy was active on all sorts of big sites just moaning about his life - because there's the potential to deradicalise these people, stop them from falling into these communities before it's too late and find a way out for them that doesn't involve them murdering someone.

I really think that all sorts of messaging that promotes traditional, anti-SJW content that tells young men that the problem in their lives is feminists is partially responsible for acts like these. They start seeing themselves as undesirable, which creates a spiral, they don't view women as people, instead as an other, in this case it seems like he was, or became, sociopathic.
