As ever there are a fair amount of casualties from last year's top thirty-five meaning their autoqualifier safety net will be removed for their next and final year of potential participation. Nothing that made the semis falls completely flat, although 'Locked Out of Heaven' which came surprisingly high last year at #21, now drops to a position you'd otherwise expect for it of #51. Also removed are Girls Aloud with what currently remains their last song standing in this competition, alongside fan favourite non-single 'On The Metro' which is stabilising outside the top 70, 'Something New' is down to #58. It's not a particularly great year for girlbands as Little Mix also fall out of the AQ zone with 'DNA' at #53. Having scraped the top 35 last year, Ke$ha's 'Die Young' and Jessie Ware's 'If You're Never Gonna Move' also depart, alongside Frank Ocean's 'Pyramids' and Nicki Minaj's 'Starships'. Not the highest returning entry, there'll be two more to come, but perhaps helped by its chart revival thanks to TikTok 'Sweater Weather' gets into this year's top 50. In better news Avicii registers a big increase for 'Silhouettes' albeit still falling short of the all-important top 35 which means I have to use a nomination spot for it again next time.

Next Year's AQs... ^_^

35 ** 183 Of Monsters and Men - Dirty Paws

34 38 186 Kelly Clarkson - What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)

33 19 188 Rihanna - Where Have You Been

32 36 189 Grimes - Oblivion

31 33 190 Coldplay (feat. Rihanna) - Princess Of China

30 ** 192 Rihanna (feat. Mikky Ekko) - Stay

29 44 193 Otto Knows - Million Voices

28 48 193 PSY - Gangnam Style

27 18 201 Marina & The Diamonds - Primadonna

26 16 201 Ellie Goulding - Anything Could Happen

25 23 211 Röyksopp (feat. Susanne Sundfør) - Running to The Sea

24 27 217 Solange - Losing You

23 50 221 Jay-Z & Kanye West - N****s In Paris

22 24 223 Lana Del Rey - Blue Jeans

21 20 223 Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe

Well firstly a bit of a surprise given I wasn't familiar with the song beforehand but Of Monsters and Men now join their better well known hit to just about AQ with 'Dirty Paws' for next year. Rihanna also re-enters with 'Stay' after for whatever reason the song being blindsided last year, now overtaking 'Where Have You Been' which loses its place in the semi-final. Fans of non-chart hits will also be keen to see Grimes entering with 'Oblivion' having just missed the zone last year, plus Röyksopp and Solange keeping steady. In great news for EDM, the big festival house hit 'Million Voices' also climbs big this year! Another of my big faves of the year in the viral hit 'Gangnam Style' also gets its AQ position as does one of the year's best rap songs 'N****s in Paris'. All in all some rather good trades.

Semi-Finalists

20 28 225 Porter Robinson - Language

19 22 238 Cheryl - Call My Name

18 15 246 Ellie Goulding - Figure 8

17 03 261 Florence & The Machine - Spectrum (Original / Calvin Harris Remix)

16 17 268 P!nk - Try

15 26 270 Swedish House Mafia - Greyhound

14 29 285 Woodkid - Run Boy Run

13 14 289 Lana Del Rey - Ride

12 12 294 Fun. (feat. Janelle Monae) - We Are Young

11 10 296 Loreen - Euphoria

10 13 297 Disclosure (feat. Sam Smith) - Latch

09 11 297 Calvin Harris (feat. Florence Welch) - Sweet Nothing

08 07 321 Rihanna - Diamonds

07 02 336 Azealia Banks (feat. Lazy Jay) - 212

06 05 384 Swedish House Mafia (feat. John Martin) - Don't You Worry Child

But most importantly 'Language' and 'Greyhound' rise into the top 20 to qualify for this year's semi! A big win for EDM. :D Another dance tune albeit a more poppy one in 'Call My Name' also rises in alongside a favourite of indie fans in 'Run Boy Run'. Florence unexpectedly takes a big dive, and at one point was even looking to exit the top 35 altogether, with Azealia Banks and SHM also leaving the top five. Loreen leaves the top 10, possibly for the first time, replaced by some more EDM in Disclosure and Calvin Harris.

Direkt Till Finalen :yahoo:

05 09 397 Lana Del Rey - Born To Die

04 04 398 David Guetta (feat. Sia) - Titanium

03 08 399 Rudimental (feat. John Newman) - Feel The Love

02 06 417 Of Monsters And Men - Little Talks

01 01 480 Gotye (feat. Kimbra) - Somebody That I Used To Know

However there's no change at the top as Gotye still firmly has the forum's favourite song of 2012, a result I definitely can't complain with, nor I suspect is surprising to anyone here. It is a very good year for Of Monsters and Men too as they are now 2nd alongside making 35th with their other song, with Rudimental and Lana Del Rey also now climbing enough to directly qualify for this year's final. It is great to see Rudimental here although SHM for Lana is not a trade-off I can get behind, but at least Titanium is still here. Besides, I can't begrudge Bre kicking the Mafia out at the last vote too much as Language wouldn't have been gone to semis otherwise.

Shame about Don't You Worry Child just missing out on being directly in the final... but good to see Feel the Love climb
Thank you for waiting for me so I could get 'Language' into the top 20 <3 (my memory of ROTD is dreadful but I'm sure it doesn't usually get past the first round, think it may have done so maybe once before?) Yass for 'Greyhound' climbing into the top 20 too, and 'Run Boy Run' although I just barely cut that out of my own votes. Also very much here for 'Born To Die' entering the top 5 and 'Don't You Worry Child' dropping out, though I am less thrilled about '212' losing its top 5 status x And :cheeseblock: at Jay-Z/Kanye gaining an AQ, so close to being two of them.

GO PORTER *.*

Dirty Paws is another shock result, but well deserved <3

73-47 for Cough Cough! Hadn't kept track of who voted for Default but 83 pts is a good total for that

As if Dirty Paws got an AQ to next year :o I thought it was just me that ever nominates or votes for that song! Great results overall and wonderful to see Woodkid climbing into the top 20.

Always fun to read these results. Thanks Dan and ElectroBoy for this! :D

OMG! Who nominated Holdin' On and forgot to vote for it?

LOL at Buzzjack's calling Cheryl's name as a semifinalist.

I'm a pshychic and I'm predicting Gotye will win this again next year. :teresa:
