Posted August 13, 20213 yr Uhsting's Top 50 More graphical version of my chart can be found on Crownnote: http://crownnote.com/charts/uhsting/uhstin...op-50-songs-116 Chart commentary: This week is very active with 16 new entries. Happier Than Ever becomes the first new entry debuting at no. 1 this year. The iconic change of mood in this song is unnprecedented -- a calm mood switching to an angry mood in the post-breakup period. I am sure this resonates a lot with different people and hence this becomes the no. 1 this week! Then, we have Fckrz whose style reminds me of ANNNA -- carefree and alternative. I think this has a special edge with the electric guitar! The top 20 has been unusually strong, which meant that some entries can't make it to the top 10 but I'm very sure they will all be in the top 10 shall they be charted in different weeks. Ranking them in the top 20 and deciding which ones to be in the top 10 has been the toughest this week in this year! We do have a couple of new entries to the top 10 aside from the 2 new entries there. Oxytocin rises to the top 10 with the unique bondage sounding, while synth-heavy Chaeri finally reached top 10 after 6 weeks. Biggest jump is Still Dream with a memorable hook! 1. August 13, 20213 yr Author Number One Entry 5GJWxDKyk3A Speechless at this! This song is raw Billie Eilish and she really demonstrates her talent with everything this song provides -- instrumentation, lyrics, arrangement, mood etc. The theme of post-breakup period is well-depicted here without going into the cliches of using fancy figurative language and poetic devices. It is direct and this is what I like! (Second) Highest New Entry 66NvXac9kWo Since Happier Than Ever debuted at no. 1, it will be weird to feature the same song under a different category, so let me introduce the second highest new entry. Fckrz is vulgar but I like the personality here and the electric guitar is a nice touch to the song. The IDGAF vibe resembles ANNNA who tried to represent Latvia in 2020. Imagine ANNNA and Luca Malina all went to Eurovision in 2022 :o It would be a moment! Highest Jump GGvAQk7XBrg I admit K-pop isn't my cup of tea up until recently pretty much. The overall music quality has increased substantially or that my taste has shifted dramatically to pop these days, but I digress. Anyway, the chorus in this song is memorable and the beat is catchy. The melody is strong too, so the music of this song has grabbed my attention and very well deserves a high jump this week. One to Watch byaY6cayMes OSTON is quite a new artist, first releasing music in 2018. Hurt Like ___ is in her latest album Am I Talking Too Much?. Comments say that this song resembles drivers license by Olivia Rodrigo but I think this is even more melancholic and hurt. The synths here are strong and amplify the mood of this song. Instrumentation is captivating though it could at times feel draggy, but this feels relatable and raw.
August 13, 20213 yr Hi uhsting! Nice to see "Happier Than Ever" at the top, debuting at #1 and the huge gain for "Oxytocin"! Great chart!
August 14, 20213 yr Hi, uhsting! Great to see underrated names like YOASOBI, The Vaccines, and Hanne Mjøen entering the top 50! Some EDM tracks beyond 50 such as Home, When I'm Right, Take Me Somewhere, and Dream Awake are good. I hope any of them can reach the top 50 too. Great week ^_^
August 14, 20213 yr Hiya! :hi: I really wish I could like Kindness more. I may give it another listen to see if it'll grow though. Don't Go Yet just hanging below the top 50. I can't remember if it was here last week or not. I do love this. :funky:
August 14, 20213 yr Ooh I must have missed Luz releasing a new song! Giving a listen now, more mellow than The Author or Counting houses but I can definitely see it growing on me. As for Happier Than Ever, the sound is ok although the language is a bit much for me! Nice to see Sody making an appearance as well, plus The Vaccines although I do prefer their other two more recent songs. Great chart!
August 16, 20213 yr Author Hi uhsting! Nice to see "Happier Than Ever" at the top, debuting at #1 and the huge gain for "Oxytocin"! Great chart! Amazed at the versatility that Billie Eilish showed with Happier Than Ever. Her change of style throughout the entire album is commendable and I really like it! :D Hi, uhsting! Great week ^_^ Hanne Mjøen probably released her best single to date in my opinion :o The chorus is memorable! The Vaccines's new song somehow is not doing well with charts but I hope to see it changed soon. The trumpets are addictive af. This week's top 50 has been quite competitive but I hope that will change soon to allow some EDM entries! :) Hiya! :hi: I really wish I could like Kindness more. I may give it another listen to see if it'll grow though. Don't Go Yet just hanging below the top 50. I can't remember if it was here last week or not. I do love this. :funky: Yes! Don't Go Yet was there last week. Sadly, this week has been hella competitive so it was really unfortunate to have it just outside top 50. I think this should debut next week! :) Ooh I must have missed Luz releasing a new song! Great chart! permanent +1 is a decent song but I think it will take some time to get used to her style here if you are not used to already ;) I like it quite a lot though! If Happier Than Ever language is a bit too much then I can't imagine the language in Fckrz  Sody's song here only recently made appearance in a few charts so I think I can be given an excuse to chart it now :kink: Thanks all for commenting!
August 16, 20213 yr Hi Uhsting! :) Billie Eilish, Anne-Marie & Little Mix, Camila Cabella, are my picks from your charts on the grounds that I havent heard hardly anything else! I hope to catch up soonish! I like seeing unusual charts though!

I hope to catch up soonish! I like seeing unusual charts though! Hi John! Glad that you like the songs here! I wouldn't say my chart is as unusual as before since I charted a lot more unheard pop songs lately. Thanks for the comment though! ^_^
