I think they probably just like the mysterious element of it, I wouldn’t be surprised album gets released without any announcement.

(Some “well-regarded” leakers are saying October though)

Doing 7 stadiums in May & June next year in the UK. Guessing the album might not come out in 2023, could see a Jan/Feb release.
Ooh where have you seen that?

I know someone who knows his stuff. Not sure when the announcement is going out, but can't be too far away. Suspect they might be playing Glastonbury judging from the dates I've seen, so might be tied in to that too.

Do a lot of bands not release anytime now and still tour like next summer?

New song alert!!!!! Insiders are suggesting that it’s titled “I Ain’t Quite Where I Think I Am”, it’s not the lead single, and the album will be announced tomorrow.

Very very funky

Strong rumours that:

- The album “The Car” will be released on October 21st

- Lead single “There’d Better Be a Mirrorball” will release on Tuesday.

Let’s see what comes true then

hope it's true! why can't they release on a Friday though!!!

It’s very very clear at this point that they don’t care about the charts

It would have been nice though haha, but I think whatever they release will be massive if it’s somewhat commercial sounding.

oh now I remember that after the 1st comeback gig in Turkey there were already rumours the first single or the album

was gonna be called Mirrorball cos they had a mirrorball onstage or something and also they posted mirrorball emojis on twitter or something

“I think we’ve got closer to a better version of a more dynamic overall sound with this record,” Turner told The Big Issue. “The strings on this record come in and out of focus and that was a deliberate move and hopefully everything has its own space. There’s time the band comes to the front and then the strings come to the front.”

A press release states that: “following 2018’s ‘Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino’, ‘The Car’ finds Arctic Monkeys running wild in a new and sumptuous musical landscape and contains some of the richest and most rewarding vocal performances of Alex Turner’s career.”

Written by Alex Turner, ‘The Car’ was produced by James Ford and recorded at Butley Priory, Suffolk, La Frette, Paris and RAK Studios, London.

unsure between the Grey and the Mustard vinyl variants, think the custard one looks nicer but the grey one is gonna be more rare
