weakest since bounce back is such an overreaction considering how basic no time for tears and holiday were, and let's not forget Kiss My is barely a 5/10

if you're gonna compare it to be megaton songs like sweet melody and break-up song it obviously won't hold up but saying it's their worst since bounce back is a massive overreaction and just not true lol.

can we pls remember that people are allowed to have differing opinions on the song? if they’re capable of providing sweet melody, heartbreak anthem, break up song etc then it’s not unreasonable to expect a similar standard moving forward.

but I don't think its stepping away too much from that standard - break-up song didn't receive the best reception and look at it now - and for sweet melody, I do believe any attempts at recreating that sound and feel would end up with a lesser song.

and I'm well aware people are allowed their own opinions - which is why I gave mine on a pop music forum? the whole point is discussion..

My opinion : i LOVE the song from the begging to the end , although im afraid it wont have success. Which make me think it was kind of on purpose to creat the buzz and to release the Mega Bop in November along with the album and when they will be ready to perform and do choreo

tbf the post I replied to was literally you just telling people they’re overreacting and saying opinions weren’t true, which doesn’t encourage much discussion.

I agree with you regarding Sweet Melody and that attempting to recreate that type of song would be detrimental, but I also feel like because of the highs they’ve been hitting recently, this definitely feels like a big drop in quality. I meant more that people probably now expect a standard from them set by SM, not necessarily the same type of song.

i just don't think they care too much at this point? i don't... they have more than proven themselves by now, it's about time they started just doing songs they enjoy instead of chasing the sound that's hot right now

if it flops it won't harm them after so many consecutive hits and the album would sell well regardless, they're about to enter a hiatus in a way so honestly there isn't anything at stake here, it feels very celebratory to me

tour will be packed anyways too

to creat the buzz and to release the Mega Bop in November along with the album

I was actually thinking this. What is they actually think it's the 2nd or 3rd best of the new songs, save either the best or 2nd best for the single before album release and then save another stand out banger for a 3rd single.

100% thats the plan

The mega single is coming in November and the 3rd one in March before the tour kicks in

LSL is perfect to open an era and create a buzz while they girls JUST gave birth and they can't do much

not sure if it's a sample/interpolation but this is based on an old Morcheeba song called Love Sweet Love

can't remember from which album but Im pretty sure it's a Morcheeba song

I'm not so sure - "No" will more than likely be the next single which already had a video, as it was the planned first single - so unless they filmed it back in January/February there will be no heavy choreo. I think between now and possibly the end of the year they'll calm down a bit - Jade is in LA now probs either doing LM7/Solo stuff and Leigh/Perrie are probably just enjoying maternity, I wouldn't expect any kind of massive choreo based video until 2022 (hopefully something they can do at the Brits!)

although I do agree LSL is a perfect way to open the era, it's very shout out to my ex teas whereas it's not seen as an amazing song but makes a statement for them. it's classic Little Mix

you're right - I believe they're credited as MNEK stated it does sample them (and he said the sample is more obvious than we think which.. being based off another song called LSL is pretty obvious)

edit: #3 on NMF for NZ/Aus - Hurricane at #1 seems a bit sus considering it was released last Sunday but!

I wonder how the video will be since they are heavily pregnant and i guess there is no choreo

Choreo with just their arms maybe.

Not that it matters this far into their career, but I really hope this doesn't have a terrible chart run.

I agree with all of this and also think Break Up Song had a great reception. I actually think Holiday, No Time for Tears and even Kiss My were all more instant than this personally - even though those aren't my favourites.

Anyone be kind enough to send me a link?

I actually love Kiss My (nowhere near my favourite but it’s so instant for me)

Holiday / NTFT I prefer too...

I don’t see how LSL is anything like SOTME either, that’s powerful and impactful.

This really isn’t clicking with me still, I think I’m just basic and prefer the instantaneous catchy bops as singles.

The video could still elevate it for me though..

I find it hard to compare to previous singles as it sounds so different. I'm liking it so far but I don't think it'll be one of my faves from them (although it's not even official out yet so my mind may easily change )
I agree with 365 that this in my opinion is their weakest single since Bounce Back, however saying this i'm finally bopping along to it after 3-4 listens.
This is where I'm at atm (also, not necessarily a bad thing considering how strong their material has been since then for me) It's getting better the more I listen to it (maybe just getting used to it idk?)

Won't ever be a fave for me I don't think but it's a cute, fun bop. The pre-chorus is an instant career highlight though *.* A SERVE!

The more I listen the more I love it. Jades prechorus in particular is a moment and the bridge is incredible.
