I cant see that they would stock any other version.

It would be nice if they had the standard double CD with all the remixes too but it's pretty unlikely, most are phasing out stocking CDs anyway now.

Thanks for the heads-up. I've ordered the Faye version and the regular signed deluxe, I'm guessing the supermarkets will only be stocking the single CD version.

Glad you secured a copy of Faye’s CD

I think you’re likely right about the supermarkets. When it comes to HMV and Amazon I’m a little concerned that they don’t have a standard black vinyl this time… if anyone wants a vinyl it has to be from their official store. I hope that they’re not denying themselves too many casual vinyl sales!

The first review - 4 out of 5 from Retro Pop Magazine:

Steps deliver wall-to-wall pop precision on their latest release ‘What The Future Holds Pt. 2’.

Arriving less than a year after the group’s triumphant sixth album, the 11-track collection follows the “one foot in the past, one foot in the future” formula of its predecessor, with classic pop melodies laced with up-to-date production.

The retro influence is apparent from the extended intro of Take Me For a Ride, which reunites the group with Topham & Twigg, the duo behind classic hits like One For Sorrow, Deeper Shade of Blue and Stomp.

Two decades on, it’s a match made in pop heaven, incorporating ‘80s synths and counter melodies, lush harmonies and an instant Steps singalong chorus.

The record also sees the group reteam with Thomas G:son, the writer behind 2020 smash Something in Your Eyes, who contributes two tracks: a cover of Mariette’s A Million Years and new cut Living in a Lie.

Referencing ABBA’s Me and I, it’s an instant standout and, clocking in at just over three minutes, proof that Steps remain Britain’s best hope of bringing the Eurovision trophy home.

Fans of 2017 comeback LP ‘Tears on the Dancefloor’ will be appeased by the array of bangers on offer; thematically, Wasted Tears is a sequel to should’ve-been-single Happy, while Kiss of Life picks up where Firefly left off.

Darren Hayes, who penned the title track from that album, contributes A Hundred Years of Winter, the most mature offering and a sure-fire radio hit.

Closer The Slightest Touch – a cover of the Five Star classic – perfectly embodies the ‘What The Future Holds’ era and paves the way for the band’s 25th anniversary celebrations in 2022.

I. CANNOT. WAIT. Hoping I can stay up late enough to stream at Midnight tomorrow!
Have they got any TV performances coming up? Don't seem to have heard of any.

^ Not seen anything about it yet, hopefully something will be announced imminently!

Here’s another review! It’s a long one so probably best to read it on the site:

Also, really great news - the album will be Radio 2’s album of the week in release week! :cheer:

I was too weak to resist (:kink:) and giving this a spin now. Victorious is obviously my first stop.

Yes that is brilliant re radio 2’s album of the week!! Is there not any loose women, this morning, one show, Sunday brunch etc etc promo?? Seriously they need to throw everything at it in release week.

I think they’re on BBC breakfast tomorrow morning (and H/Claire were on The One Show earlier tonight)
It’s out!!! I’ve given the previews a quick listen and it sounds great. I need to give it a full listen, just need to work out when.

Also after I’ve listened to it I’ll post my initial thoughts and initial rank.

Should we do that kind of thing here or in a new thread?
