Well it will get them a uk sale that way and every sale counts.

That’s my thinking. Though I should check my friend will still be living in London then, I presume they will be.

I’ve just discovered the original (not Steps version) of Victorious and A Million Years on Spotify and I like them both. Are we sure these are the ones on the album?
I am definitely gonna buy this when it releases! Hopefully they get that #1  if it's anything like part 1, it's going to be one of their best albums.

I really hope they can grab that #1 spot!

And I also hope they:

-Make clear it’s a new release.

-Release it in a ‘quiet’ week.

-Get different versions like part 1.

-Promote everywhere they can!

They have suffered with both previous releases due to big competition and as a result missed out on Number 1.
I really hope that they can do it this time, they deserve it :cheer:

I’d predict late June to early August. Which means I think we’ll only get the one proper single before the album drops. We’ll probably get a promo track the week before as well.
They would be better in my opinion to have 2 singles before the album and a promo track as it would help streaming as that's their weak spot.

Definitely agree with this... although I suppose HITC streams will count towards the album...

I hoped that we'd get two singles before the album. One single just doesn't seem to be enough for them.
Technically the next single would be the second one because Heartbreak in This City served as the introductory single from the album 🤭
How they deliver the singles won't impact as their steaming appeal is ridiculously low.

I mean, it's low compared to modern day artists - but I wouldn't say ridiculously low. They still managed to generate 1,001 first week sales via streaming for the What the Future Holds album. That was more than Gary Barlow's album, which did 630, and Michael Ball/Alfie Boe's 388.

For a pop act that is almost 25 years old, that level of streaming is probably the very best we can ever expect for them. Their singles (and certainly the album tracks) aren't going to find their way onto the popular playlists, which is needed to accumulate high streaming sales. Their 1k sales isn't bad when you consider that it was probably mostly made up of listens from people who had specifically searched for the album to listen to it in full, rather than passively.

Honestly I don't think we really need to dwell on streaming when it comes to Steps.

In theory it could be helpful to have two more singles before the next album is released, to attract more physical/download pre-orders. I do think in terms of timing that it's more likely to be one single and an instant grat, which is adequate.
