#140 in the Monday midweeks (367 sales) and #152 on Tuesday (469 sales). Let’s hope they can hold on!

I’d like to stress how closely packed together the albums are in the midweek charts… Steps may have dropped 12 places, but Tuesday’s midweek #140 sold 483, so that is only 14 sales difference. Steps are also only 75 sales ahead of #200.

Steps are surrounded by albums that are strongly streamed, of course Steps themselves are heavily relying on the few physicals and downloads they’re managing to achieve.

I'd say sales are very tightly packed in that part of the chart, 20 sales could make a huge difference. They should be ok to sell at least 800 this copies this week.
Sales from 41-100 are tightly packed so I'd imagine 101-200 is even tighter.
Sadly it's not Top 200 today  Streaming is the enemy for Steps! I can imagine it was fairly close. Anyway, 2-21-81-127-out... a bit of an "ouch", but the past month has been quite lowkey for Steps. Hopefully sales pick up with The Slightest Touch on Radio 2 and the tour coming up.

829 sales for the album this week, the #200 sold 846

New total: 31,838.

If it's any consolation, Manic Street Preachers are also out of the Top 200 this week... they sold 837.

1-15-46-100-out Manic Street Preachers (technically #201 in week 5)

2-21-81-127-out Steps (technically #203 in week 5)

  • 3 weeks later...

Although the album hasn't re-entered since falling out the Top 200 (its run is 02-21-81-127-Out), it has spent the past few weeks not being too far outside of it.

17/09 - #2 (25,285 sales) [Total: 25,287 sales]

24/09 - #21 (3,261 sales) [Total: 28,548 sales]

01/10 - #81 (1,412 sales) [Total: 29,960 sales]

08/10 - #127 (1,049 sales) [Total: 31,009 sales]

15/10 - n/a (829 sales) [Total: 31,838 sales]

22/10 - n/a (732 sales) [Total: 32,570 sales]

29/10 - n/a (780 sales) [Total: 33,350 sales]

#200 album sales on...

15/10 - 846 sales (Steps 17 sales behind)

22/10 - 851 sales (Steps 119 sales behind)

29/10 - 847 sales (Steps 67 sales behind)

Hopefully the tour will push up their sales, maybe return to the charts?

I am actually pretty impressed that they are continuing to sell pretty much 1k a week still, every sale helps and they are now closer to 40k than 30k, hopefully if they can continue and do some promotion during the Christmas period they can get it to silver quicker than initially believed.
It’s randomly 20 on iTunes? What’s caused this?
That must be the effect of the tour? Hope it can return to the album chart and get some more weeks in!

760 sales this week, taking its total to 34,110. #200 sold 846.

Let's hope next week can be a re-entry, after a string of shows have taken place!
