I may be in the minority here but I’m quite the fan of Under My Skin. I would’ve welcomed it as a single.

I like Under My Skin a lot too! Although I feel like it getting the instant grat / pre-album release treatment at least gave it a moment to shine by itself.

 

It's just occurred to me that this set list features 4 out of 5 songs from What the Future Holds (as in Pt.1 / 2020 album), even though it was marketed as a What the Future Holds Pt. 2 show lol. Only Take Me for a Ride is from Pt. 2. Technically the acoustic versions of What the Future Holds, Something in Your Eyes and Heartbreak in This City could be considered as Pt. 2 era at a push, considering they're included as bonuses on that album. Though the one album track being from Pt. 1? Interesting choice.

 

A bit of a wasted opportunity really. They should have been more adventurous with the choices - I would have welcomed performances of Wasted Tears, Living in a Lie and The Slightest Touch instead of What the Future Holds, Something in Your Eyes and Heartbreak in This City.

Yeah you’re right. I feel the recent singles have got a really good run. It would’ve been nice to see some album tracks.

No not thanks to Dan he was in front of me so I couldn’t really see when he was filming! Will try and post later with what I remember of what was said but some of the questions were shit eg “in 2017 Claire and Lee you were sat in first class and I came over and said I loved you do you remember me?” “At car fest I was on row 4 in gold dancing did you see me?” Wtf???

While the acoustic versions showcase their live vocals the versions dont do it for me at all, the life is gone from the songs in an acoustic version.

I was there for the WTFHP2 bit (which was really part 1 but whatever… also the unperformed songs was one song lol). It was good apart from the guy who kept waving his fan and blocking peoples view, even despite someone telling him she couldn’t see… was annoying… then he was also selected to ask a question meh.

 

They started with what the future holds and they all sounded great except Lisa who was a little wobbly. Lisa really warmed up on the second song and they all sounded fantastic!!

 

First they thanked everyone for coming and opened floor to questions first one was fan guy who said he wondered what they thought of tribute acts because he was in a tribute act and he dressed in drag for it and has met them before in his drag do they remember him? Some of them said no but then some said yes (very unconvincingly lol), he then continued talking about his drag act or something and they never actually answered his initial question?

 

One of the other questions was asking Lee why he wasn’t wearing any green when the others were… and he responded saying his underwear was green lol! That got a lot of whoops and cheers. H then shouted “it’s a green jockstrap” Lee then proceeded to look down his jeans and shake his head and say “sorry they are not.”

 

Another question was what advice would you give yourself 25 years ago. H quickly chirped in with “don’t leave the band!” Faye then interrupted with “I’d tell you that too and myself never to stop doing it!” And they all laughed. He then said basically don’t sweat the small stuff because it really doesn’t matter. Lisa said she would tell herself to do everything all over again as she loved it all. Claire said to not listen to what others have to say about them / her because who cares about their negative opinions but they do get into your head when you are that age. Lee said he would tell himself not to take it too serious and enjoy it more as he found it hard to relax first time round.

 

They also got asked what their favourite single was H said Deeper shade of blue I think he said something to do with the memories linked to it. Faye said scared of the dark. Claire said one for sorrow. Lisa said tragedy because it was their first number one (forgot heartbeat lol) and Lee said it’s the way you make me feel.

 

There was the two strange questions about meeting them on the train did they remember him and someone was at carfest wearing gold did they see him (???) Claire said she remembered the guy on the train but her face said otherwise lol. She said something about being off her trolley.

 

I think that was it I can’t remember any other questions… basically most of the questions were utter shit but that was the fans… what a waste!

 

I wanted to ask Lisa what her favourite H & Claire song was hahaha

 

Another question was a girl asking if she could get up and have a dance with them… they said no lol :lol: H said something about doing a tik tok for her or something but they didn’t so I was t quite sure if I got that wrong?

Some good questions in there and I like H answer about not leaving the band although that happening may have worked out for the best long term.

This album remains so great, I prefer it to Part 1 with great distance between them.

Definitely Part 1 for me now I've had time to let them both settle.

Releasing as 2 separate albums I remain unsure.

Would the original reissued as a deluxe format have worked better or would the overall result be the same.

I can’t actually pick a favorite between the two!

Both in part have served some strong material.
