Despite being at 72, ‘Silk’ is the 4th highest new entry this year. Whilst ‘Spring / Sun / Winter / Dread’ enters at 69 and ‘WILD’ is the 2nd highest entry at 61. ‘Giant Peach’ by Wolf Alice meanwhile manages to climb from 98 to 75 and ‘Fight Song’ climbs 30 places up to 71 ‘Cheerleader’ gains support and climbs 25 places whilst ‘Peanut Butter Jelly’ climbs 34 places in what is going to prove to be an excellent set of results for Galantis. We also see here quite a steep drop for ‘House Every Weekend’ which drops to 73 despite being almost in the auto qualifying zone last year and ‘Jealous’ also drops out from the top 40 to 68. 60 80 Jason Derulo - Want To Want Me = 127pts 59 NE Grace (feat. Simon Aldred) - Waiting For Love = 168pts ‘You Don’t Own Me’ becomes the highest new entry at 59 this year, with the remainder of the songs being entrants which were here last year. We see some big drops out of the top 20 and the semi finals as Little Mix have a bad year as both ‘Let Me Love You’ and ‘Black Magic’ take a fall. We lost a number from the auto-qualifyers as ‘Doing It’ drops 19 places to 46, ‘What Kind of Man’ slides 18 places to 48, ‘Clearest Blue’ drops 8 places and ‘I’m a Ruin’ slides 8 places to 37. Meanwhile we have big climbs for ‘Good For You’ up to 45, ‘High by the Beach’ climbs to 43, ‘Sax’ climbs 15 places to 41 and ‘Waiting for Love’ climbs 26 places and misses out on auto-qualification by 1 point. So what did make it? Auto-Qualified 35 44 Jamie xx (feat. In terms of new auto-qualifyers for next year; ‘Loud Places, ‘Hotline Bling’, ‘Psycho’ and ‘Distant Past’ all take climbs to each the qualification zone. However the biggest climb goes to ‘Adventure of a Lifetime’ which rises 36 places to 25. ‘Elastic Heat’ climbs 5 places and misses out on the semi-finals by 10pts. Semi-Final 20 21 Mark Ronson (feat. Bruno Mars) - Uptown Funk = 255pts 19 09 Calvin Harris & Disciples - How Deep Is Your Love = 255pts 18 22 Walk The Moon - Shut Up And Dance = 256pts 17 07 Adele - Hello = 256pts 16 12 Tame Impala - Let It Happen = 258pts 15 43 Weeknd - The Hills = 259pts 14 28 Weeknd - Can't Feel My Face = 261pts 13 19 Grimes - Kill V. HAIM) - Pray To God = 292pts 07 14 Kygo (feat. Conrad Sewell) - Firestone = 313pts 06 05 Major Lazer (feat. DJ Snake & MØ) - Lean On = 324pts The Semi-Finals see a bit of a shake up as we have a big of a clear-out. ‘Uptown Funk’ climbs a places to 20 to reach the semi-finals whilst ‘Shut Up and Dance’ climbs 4 places to also reach the semis. The Weeknd has a great year here as both ‘The Hills’ and ‘Can’t Feel My Face’ take a big surge to both reach the semi-finals, the former also being a new qualifier for next year. We also lose one of last years Automatic Finalists as ‘Lean On’ drops a place. The race for the top 5 was incredibly closes as ‘Sorry, ‘Firestone’ and ‘Lean On’ were in contention at various times, but none could quite make it… :cheer: Finalists :cheer: 05 20 Galantis - Runaway (U&I) = 335pts 04 04 Taylor Swift - Style = 357pts 03 02 Years & Years - King = 402pts 02 03 Ariana Grande - One Last Time = 423pts 01 01 Carly Rae Jepsen - Run Away With Me = 443pts So possibly a big surprise here as ‘Runaway (U&I) climbs a massive 15 places to take a finalist spot. The song had strong voting throughout and whilst it was pressed by other songs, its support remained strong to the end. The top 4 meanwhilst remain the same with just ‘King’ and ‘One Last Time’ swapping places. ‘Run Away With Me’ had a very, very slow beginning and seemed to struggle, but come the last 2 days and it was gaining points from everyone. ‘One Last Time’ lead for most of the vote, however the former ROTD winner managed to nab the lead in the end… will it go all the way again this year? September 2, 20213 yr Waiting For Love missing AQ by one point :snif: executive decision to expand AQs to top 40s next year then :magic: very impressive 20-5 jump for Galantis, but well deserved, the song has aged very well. Little Mix, Demi, Taylor & Ellie for Uptown Funk and the two Weeknd songs (particularly The Hills) is a great semi final trade too (not so much into 'Shut Up & Dance' going in as well but whatev). a lot of LM support seems to have been lost this year with Black Magic this year and SOTME in 2016 dropping off hard. ;o
September 2, 20213 yr Urgh! I should have given Where Are Ü Now and Waiting For Love more points especially considering the songs at #35 and #34. Weeknd always overrated in this place!
