September 4, 20214 yr I’d love Abba to seize the no1 single but will they really be able to garner enough streams to enter at no1?!
September 4, 20214 yr I’d love Abba to seize the no1 single but will they really be able to garner enough streams to enter at no1?! No chance, it’s defo gonna be Drake by the looks of things, think ABBA may have a shot at top 20 though.
September 4, 20214 yr I'd love ABBA to go all the way but know it wont happen, top 10 would be great, I dread the influx of all the new drake songs as I dont enjoy his music at all.
September 4, 20214 yr The big question will Iron Maiden's physical sales be bigger then Drake's streams?
September 4, 20214 yr The big question will Iron Maiden's physical sales be bigger then Drake's streams? How much are we expecting Drake to sell? Is 50,000+ a reach?
September 4, 20214 yr ABBA were not going to get #1 on the singles chart regardless of Drake. I'd say it looks like they have a realistic shot at going top 10 between strong pure sales (especially if they are shifting a lot of CDs) and relatively decent streaming, and that is plenty impressive enough for a returning 70s/80s act. The album will be when they have the chance to pull out really big numbers. Do they have CDs available for both songs? They're both doing nearly the same numbers as each other on both iTunes and Spotify/Apple.

September 4, 20214 yr Both songs have CD singles although ‘I Still Have Faith In You’ has a vinyl single too!
September 4, 20214 yr This has been a really good year for music and the charts in general (certainly the best in the streaming era), TikTok has made the charts a bit less predictable, lots of good dance tracks, the unexpected rise of Maneskin, ABBA’s come back, the vinyl revival in full flow and a lot of look forward to in Q4.
September 4, 20214 yr I expect Top 10 for at least one of the ABBA songs. Why didn't they release the songs as a double A-side single though?
September 4, 20214 yr I expect Top 10 for at least one of the ABBA songs. Why didn't they release the songs as a double A-side single though? The concept of a double A-Side is essentially obsolete in the digital era. The only thing that would 'achieve' would be for only one of the songs to be able to get physical sales. Both songs have CD singles although ‘I Still Have Faith In You’ has a vinyl single too! Ah I see! I guess that's likely to ensure ISHFIY is the higher charting of the two then (if all the physical sales count to this week that is).
September 4, 20214 yr One thing that could work in ABBA’s favour is the Top 10 sales being fairly weak at the moment. The #5 did 26k last week and the #4 has gone to ACR, so it’s only last week’s Top 3 and 3 Drake songs that are likely to be doing more than 30k.
September 4, 20214 yr https://twitter.com/officialcharts/status/1...yFvn2w&s=19 ABBA album sold already 40k on pre orders alone... And that is/was the rumored date of Adele coming (yeah I know it's been years saying the same but this should be it) but I doubt she will now, they are gonna sell so much, and now we know they can have STREAMS, oh wow. They are gonna sell so many albums. Jesus.
