Here in 10th place is former finalist, Katy Perry. Looking at some of these results right now and honestly... I'm really baffled by what went wrong with 'Dark Horse' & 'Hot N Cold' in particular. I would've assumed both were solid top 5 placings (6/7 at the worst) but neither of them got top half of their rounds? Bizarre. At least Katy's best song got them a victory though! A good game was played, even if some of the results were slightly odd and really not how I would have imagined Katy to have done.

I actually think Dark Horse still sounds amazing! Listened to it recently for the first time in a while and WHAT an anthem.

 

Hot N Cold is my fave all time Katy song so that deserved top 3 at least imo :drama:

Btw, I find it hilarious how DH and Black Widow are basically the same song.

And quite fittingly after Katy we complete the bad blood connection with Taylor finishing in 9th place in this competition! First of all I wanna say a big thanks to my fellow Taylor mods ...Ready for it and London for taking on this competition and making the selections etc & making sure that we acc submitted songs for each round! My life has been hectic af recently haha so I feel like I pretty much stopped having time to get involved after like the 2nd round :( Anyway back to Taylor cos not everything is about me! (ft. Brendon Urie of Panic at the disco), Taylor did pretty well on the whole! The best performing round happened in round 7 when reputation's deep-cut Getaway Car won the round! :cheer: It's great seeing Getaway Car get the appreciation it deserves, what a timeless masterpiece <3 Taylor's album tracks did very well on the whole, with Cruel Summer (time for some more why tf weren't GC or CS singles) and Enchanted finishing top 5 and legendary ballad All Too Well scoring a top half placement in a round full of singles! We also sent some of her biggest hits, with some like Blank Space performing very well whilst others slightly underperformed. Especially #Justice4Willow :cry: which basically stopped y'all getting anymore folkmore songs in this competition gah :( Anyway I'm v. happy with 9th for Taylor and as we continue with results, go purchase Red (Taylor's Version) and Wildest Dreams (Taylor's Version) <3

It's sad to see 'willow' performance prevented more from the 'FolkMore' eras but it's genuinely one of the worst of the 2 eras for me (I really don't get why it's so adored when compared to like over half of the tracks from either of the albums!!) 'exile' deserved it's moment </3

 

Very happy to see how well 'Enchanted' did. More 'Speak Now' in the future hopefully! :wub:

My main comment for Taylor is... justice for folkmore!! However, so many great Taylor songs sent across the rounds though! Jonjo shading willow... he cannot be trusted x

 

I was definitely surprised by some of Katy's results, particularly Dark Horse in 17th - but still, making the Top 10 out of 24 forums is a great outcome!

I'm in the minority of not really enjoying folklore / evermore as much as most Taylor albums so I wasn't disappointed to see little representation there :kink: Speak Now getting a moment with her best song :wub:

A very shaky start for the Kylie AF as it fell victim to the random song generator in Round 1 - if only it was the studio version of 'All the Lovers'! Thankfully things turned around nicely in Round 4 when 'Slow', perhaps surprisingly, gave the AF its best performer! 'Love At First Sight' gave the forum another #2 position after we ever so narrowly made it into the second half of the competition. I'd have liked to have given 'Impossible Princess' some representation, perhaps in Round 2 album track round, however my main concern was to make up for our poor start and I'm unsure how this experimental era of Kylie music would have fared.

Rounds 7-10 had pretty weird song choices from Kylie, if you ask me. Needed more Put Yourself in My Place and Confide in Me and less Light Years era

:wub: That was a great turnaround for Kylie! I wonder what might have been sent first had it not been the randomly selected live version of All the Lovers?

 

I think the focus on Light Years and Fever eras was sensible in terms of making Kylie climb the leader board. I do love Put Yourself in My Place in particular but my gut instinct is that it wouldn't do amazingly well in this contest...

 

I was also pleasantly surprised by how well Slow did - ultimately I think that success is what really benefited Kylie making the Top 12 - getting almost 80% of voters in that round really helped out her overall average, compared to Ariana.
