September 30, 20213 yr I liked her last album. Beware of the Dog was a tuuuune and to this day it amazes me it only just made the top 10 I think Jamelia suffered from what I believe happens to a lot of female singers - there is the initial interest, that disappears when the next female soloist comes along. The music industry does not seem to invest in female artists in the same way as other artists (in my opinion) On a personal note - was always gutted she cancelled on my uni May ball, on the morning of the event! Did see her perform right before Superstar came out though

Did see her perform right before Superstar came out though I think this is the nail on the head. I wasn’t much into her material from this album but it’s a shame she never released anything afterwards as she was a very talented artist. She was so huge in 2003/4.
October 2, 20213 yr Beware of The Dog was a standout single from Jamelia. In today's music world I think Mabel is in a similar situation to where Jamelia was and could be moved on from quickly in favour of a new artist on the scene.
