Let's say you're in charge of organising the set list for a Steps tour! Which songs would you like them to perform?

You can be as realistic or imaginative as you want. It doesn't necessarily have to be for the 'What the Future Holds' era, but if that's the set list you'd like to create, go for it!

Would you include any cover versions that Steps haven't already covered before? Solo sections? Medleys? How many songs would you try and fit in? Would you separate the songs into different "Acts" - what themes would each Act have?

Enjoy!

Thank you for the thread inspiration, Jamesy! :w00t:

Tried to get a mix of the classics in with the new stuff, I’m likely being totally delusional thinking they will do that much new stuff (or a full better best forgotten - or even a snippet of say you’ll be mine).

I really don’t want any new covers during the show they are always a snooze fest and they have enough of their own covers they don’t need more. Also not here for “girls” cover or “boys” cover or any solos.

I also really hope when I said goodbye gets a rest it’s always such a “toilet break” moment everyone sits down or heads off like meh! Heartbeat can be in there though that’s lovely I just couldn’t fit it in.

I may have chosen too many songs too 🤣

Great list Spiceboy, though I’d try and squeeze in The Slightest Touch.

Unless I missed that.

Omg I forgot that one!! Now need to re evaluate the whole thing!!!

I was t sure if you forgot it or just chose to leave it out. Haha

In terms of what I could imagine being realistic (and so many good but less popular singles are going to have to be cut), I'd go with:

1. What The Future Holds

2. Deeper Shade of Blue

3. Neon Blue

4. Stomp

5. To The Beat Of My Heart

6. Wasted Tears

7. Heartbeat

8. A Hundred Years Of Winter

9. Take Me For A Ride

10. Last Thing on My Mind / Better Best Forgotten (medley)

11. 5, 6, 7, 8

12. Better the Devil You Know

13. Chain Reaction

14. Something In Your Eyes / Living In A Lie (Medley - probably the latter won't make it but this would work so well)

15. Summer of Love

16. The Slightest Touch

17. Love's Got a Hold on My Heart / Say You'll Be Mine / Here and Now (medley)

18. It's The Way You Make Me Feel

19. One for Sorrow

20. Heartbreak In This City

Encore:

21. Scared of the Dark

22. Tragedy

I think that covers all the bases with a strong opening run that sets the scene and includes a couple of the hits, into some of the more recent uptempo singles then the classic slower section, more of the old hits and then upping the pace all the way to the end with most of the the signature hits (apart from 5,6,7,8 as that can go anywhere) towards the back of the show. Heartbreak In This City could work a lot later on though as it was so well received, and appears on both albums (nu Radar). I feel like Scared Of The Dark has earned its place as encore quality but they may put something else there and play that earlier, I doubt they'll ever not finish with Tragedy though.

Both of those are excellent looking set lists! I'd be very happy if they went with them.

I still need to think about my own set list! It'll be so hard to narrow it down :drama:

1. What the future holds

2. Stomp

3. Better the devil you know

4. Heartbreak in this city

5. To the one

6. Better best forgotten

7. The way you make me feel

8. Something in your eyes

9. Neon blue

10. Chain reaction

11. Love got a hold of my heart / Last thing on my mind / After the love has gone (medley)

12. Wasted tears

13. A hundred years of winter

14. Deeper shade of blue

15. Summer of love / say you’ll be mine (medley)

16. Scared of the dark

17. Take me for a ride

18. Living in a lie

19. Here and now / you’ll be sorry (medley)

20. The slightest touch

21. One for sorrow

22. Tragedy

Id be happy with this but would swap the Love got a hold of my heart / Last thing on my mind / After the love has gone (medley with last thing on my mind/ paradise lost and after the love has gone.

I really think there’s going to be some disappointment with the set list they have chosen. They would do well to adopt Kylie’s Golden approach where they do two halves with a break in the middle so they can get more songs in the show. Anyway my ideal (and realistic) set list is as follows:

1. What The Future Holds

2. Deeper Shade of Blue

3. Stomp

4. Chain Reaction

5. Heartbreak in this City

6. Neon Blue

7. Take Me For A Ride

8. Last Thing On My Mind

9. Summer of Love

10. Better The Devil You Know

11. Living in a Lie/Story of a Heart medley

12. A Hundred Years of Winter

13. Heartbeat

14. Under My Skin

15. 5678/Better Best Forgotten medley

16. It’s the Way You Make Me Feel

17. To The Beat of My Heart

18. The Slightest Touch

19. One For Sorrow

20. Scared of the Dark

Encore:

21. Something in your Eyes

22. Tragedy

I know this thread is the ideal tour set list but I already know I won’t get “I Know Him So Well” or “Here and Now” so I may as well make it slightly more realistic!

^ Ooh, I too would rather like an Under My Skin performance!

It will be veryyyy interesting to see which album tracks they ultimately choose.

I mean I wouldn’t say I want it completely but I’ve tried to make my set list realistic as well as ideal! But they do sing it well live!

I am intrigued to see the balance of songs they perform from What The Future Holds part 1 and 2.
Party on the Dancefloor really was a perfect set list (maybe could have included Glitter and Gold) but seriously, they’re gonna have to pull something major out the bag to top that set list!
