The expansive, multi-year deal will see Bravado represent the band across merchandising, direct-to-consumer products and campaigns, touring, brand and retail licensing and distribution. The deal comes ahead of the 25th anniversary of their debut album Spice later this month. The Spice Girls and UMG are releasing an expanded anniversary Spice 25 album, featuring previously unreleased songs, demos and mixes on October 29, 2021. The original album was released on November 4, 1996 on Virgin Records. The first Spice Girls Wannabe 25 Merch capsule collection is now available, including a mug, anniversary hoodie and Wannabe distressed vintage T-shirt. Bravado is UMG’s provider of consumer, lifestyle and branding services to recording artists and entertainment brands around the world. The deal marks the first time in two decades that licensing rights across all channels have been assigned to a partner. The Spice Girls and Bravado will deliver new products and capsule collections to retail partners around the world. Spice Girls said: “We are so excited to be working with Bravado again, especially in this our 25th anniversary year and are looking forward to collaborating with the team.” Richelle Parham, president of global e-commerce and business development, Universal Music Group, said: “We are thrilled to partner with the Spice Girls, to create new and exciting product lines and to expand the band’s connection directly with their loyal superfans. October 6, 20213 yr Author This is good news, it confirms the commitment to the sort of 3 year plan of 25th anniversary. It also finally links the girls and a record label properly, working together properly. It's an all encompassing deal including touring and new campaigns so it has the door open to sort out a tour or new music. My biggest gripe for years is the girls were always separate from a label now they are properly working with one so it can only be a positive thing. Edited October 6, 20213 yr by sammy01

I'm sure you don't as it's the first time in 20 years the girls have signed the rights exclusively to one company encompassing everything. October 6, 20213 yr Yeah, I think because the article mentions tour, people are confusing it. This new deal is for *merch* including merchandise that will be produced around tours, but this company wont be the ones producing a tour if that makes sense...
October 6, 20213 yr Author But Merch and stuff will still be 5 like Spice 25? The deal was signed by the 4, I'm sure Victoria won't be stopping them using 5 piece pics though. She didn't stop them in 2019. This is basically so that when the tour rolls around in 2023 they can take proper advantage of it globally. In 2019 you couldn't actually buy anything in stores merch wise even though H&M, topshop etc were selling baby, sporty and so on t-shirts and even champagne glasses it wasn't any official merch and they missed out on a huge amount of money. Also Universal being properly involved means any music tie ins will be done properly and thought about beforehand like spice 25. Not like the GH picture disc which was only an after thought by Universal as they weren't involved in the tour or any of the planning. It makes sense for Universal to sort the music/merch side for everything going forward. Have it all under 1 umbrella and in liason with the girls team. Edited October 6, 20213 yr by sammy01
