Yeah I checked again and you're right, it does say that. But then it doesn't list producer or songwriter in the full list of categories which is weird! Maybe they'll be silently awarded without presenting those awards on stage? Idk.

I think the eligibility period for the last awards were Jan 2020 - March 2021 cause they were delayed. So I guess this time it’s only March- December.

I did but it still wasn’t clear if that was going to be handed out in the show or not, given it wasn’t listed at the bottom with the other awards. Glad that seems to be the case.
November 22, 20213 yr They normally ‘surprise’ announce those ones on the night. When Calvin Harris won producer of the year a few years ago it wasn’t announced before hand.

November 22, 20213 yr Great decision to bring back the genre awards as well as having an overall artist of the year. Should hopefully mean a greater variety of winners.
November 22, 20213 yr Very happy to see genre awards reintroduced, but not so much at them being fan voted! It'll probably just mean a default win for The 1975 or Yungblud in alternative whenever they're nominated (as much as I love them :lol:)

November 22, 20213 yr I agree, it makes a mess allowing fans to vote. Best British video was a good example of how much of a mess that became. Still at least the genres are back.
November 22, 20213 yr I know fanbases can distort things but as an artist, I think I'd find more value in a fan-voted award than one given to me by a panel of random executives
November 22, 20213 yr Certain awards should not be fan voted but I don’t mind it for some categories. Fan voted awards I’m 50/50 with just because it kinda has more of a appeal to artists with a younger fanbase. Awards like Best album should absolutely not be fan voted though :lol:
