November 4, 20213 yr I rinsed this back in 2005, I think they were trying to make them a competitor of Girls Aloud at the time but all we had was this #52 single: 5LpXw9xlm9I Also this, a #40 in 2006 and doesn't seem to even have its official video uploaded on YouTube. Their album was surprisngly really good! pEKJBYEdv5k
November 4, 20213 yr Oh I loved Do It Again, that unlocked a memory! There was another good song called Do It Again by a girlband called Foxy from Norway, in the Melodi Grand Prix 2009. Shame about some of the live vocals but the studio version is brilliant. DrA6mxVclAI Nylon were brilliant too, such a shame Losing A Friend isn't on streaming (most of these mentioned aren't). Here's another Eurovision related one I listen to a lot, it lost the UK national final to Daz Sampson in 2006, echoes of the stuff Kelly Clarkson and The Veronicas etc were peddling at the time. och-aAMN__Y
November 4, 20213 yr Author In 2005 year my country got new four-piece girl group Shpilki (Hairpins). "Malenkaya shtuchka" ("A Little Thing") was their most popular song. i5czUIGAhSM
November 4, 20213 yr That cover version of I'll Be There For You. :puke2: Surely that's one song that is far too well known and heard in its original form to ever be tampered with.
November 6, 20213 yr Author Benefit - Sex Sells -WmeZXs6F2o If you will ask anybody of my age in Russia to name old popular girls group songs, that you obviously will be surprised. Spice Girls will get some votes, but there are three low-known singles, which became huge radio hits in my country. "I Saw You Dancing" by Swedish group Yaki-Da, "Let The Love Goes On" from Me & My and of course "Sex Sells". British girl duo Benefit (Lucy Harrison and Judy Hulme) was created in 2002 year. The ladies were signed by small label Edel Records, but both singles didn't see the official release. Due to great success of their debut single "Sex Sells" in my country, we got the official release of Benefit album. Short Benefit history was over after the release of the second video on "What's Gonna Be" in 2003 year. Did you know this song before ? Edited November 6, 20213 yr by Last Dreamer
November 7, 20213 yr Sirens - Give A Little Love One of the girls (Zoe Badwi) is the cousin of Jade from Little Mix. s3xJBno5NGc
November 7, 20213 yr Author Love Bites - He's Fit (2006) (UK # 48) Rhoc-VTSAYk It was their second and last single.
November 9, 20213 yr Author YVA - Barbie (2005) eBS8JpEKkJY When all-time # 1 girl group was born. "Barbie" is not the best choice for representing YVA discography, but it's signature track, not only for group, but for me too. This funny pop track made me a big fan of these Lithuanian beauties. I discovered YVA through music contest on ESCForum.net somewhere in 2012-2013 year. "Barbie" was the first YVA song, which I heard and it was love at first sight. YVA tried to represent Lithuania on Eurovision 2005 with "Barbie", but wasn't successful in national pre-selection. Suprisingly "Barbie" is not available on any YVA albums, also it's their first and last song on English language. Singing "Touch my neck and kiss my eye"... Edited January 7, 20223 yr by Last Dreamer
December 15, 20213 yr I just discovered this today, but what a gem - Sisters of Sweden (SOS) - Jumping! 0e-lBjz2WKo Can we do some little jumping, a little bit of humpin'
December 23, 20213 yr I absolutely loved Nylon! Managed to get a copy of their English album, wish it was on streaming!
January 7, 20223 yr I love Masai, they had No.1s in my chart in 2001 and 2003 with Kick Back and Do That Thang. Heaven & Hell was a long-running No.4. I also bought all three on CD single but none cracked the top 40, although Do That Thang came close. I emailed their label/rightsholder last year to see if they'd put the single mixes on Spotify, as they are all on Apple Music, but they ignored me :(
January 7, 20223 yr Justice for Girls Can't Catch. Echo was a BOP I loved Dolly Rockers at the time so good to see Gold Digger posted on the previous page.
January 7, 20223 yr Justice for Girls Can't Catch. Echo was a BOP I loved Dolly Rockers at the time so good to see Gold Digger posted on the previous page. I still sing Echo to this day. If it had been released by a known group I think it would have been huuuuge
January 8, 20223 yr Author I'm sorry for using a song from my top 100 girl groups songs list again, but there are many low-known wonderful singles, which deserved much more attention. Boom - How Do You Do ? (2009) Xl79bqBieT4 "How Do You Do?" is English language version of low-known Russian song "Holidays", which surprisingly was covered many times on different languages, even on Lithuanian. German and the most popular version was recorded by BeFour and became top 5 hit in Austria.
