On Halloween, all across the universe, terrifying forces are stirring. From the Arctic Circle to deep space, an ancient evil is breaking free. And in present-day Liverpool, the life of Dan Lewis is about to change forever. Why is the Doctor on the trail of the fearsome Karvanista? And what is the Flux?

It’s time for the Thirteenth Doctor to return in the thirteenth series. The series will see Dan the Plasterer join Yaz & the Doctor in a six part epic that sees a bunch of returning and new monsters and new character Vinder. Who are the Ravagers? What is the Flux? Who knows…

(i love that image aside from that awful photoshop for Jodie)

I wasn’t that hyped but it’s just suddenly hit me! I think knowing the surprises we got in Series 12 makes me all the more excited because I have no idea what may be in store this time around. I do hope Jo Martin returns but the cast list is already bursting at the seams, nevermind all the monsters that are going to be featured. Let’s just hope the different story format allows for everything to breathe!

I'm REALLY hyped for this, I'm feeling cautiously optimistic that this could be Jodie's best series yet. Series 12 improved on a LOT of things from series 11 and I'm hoping that, with Graham and Ryan gone, we'll see Yaz shining more independently and that Dan can help bring a new dynamic.

After what felt like a media blackout for so long (as far as new content goes), every teaser has felt really exciting and it's built my hype perfectly!

I’m approaching with absolute caution. Very first episode of a Chibnall series (and the seasonal specials) are always great for me and then I get very disappointed down the line.
It was a REALLY good opening episode and just what I hoped it'd be! Jodie was fantastic, Mandip finally had some better stuff to work with and I'm really liking Dan so far, John did a great job. Beyond that, I have lots of questions but that's to be expected, so we'll see how they get answered in the coming weeks. Really strong start, I hope it can keep the momentum going!
I was a bit sceptical after watching the trailer, but I really enjoyed it and am very intrigued as to how the series is going to plan out. The combo of new and old villains being teased works really well!
Really enjoyed that episode. It had just the right amount of humour, terror and suspense. The villain was great, genuinely terrifying and there is hopefully a lot of scope for what is to come in the next/subsequent episodes!

I’m actually stanning this TARDIS team already, really shows how overcrowded three companions are. Yaz is able to come into her own by having Ryan & Graham’s lines and Dan is able to provide that fresh outlook.

LOTS going on, as I expected (and slightly fear may have been offputting to casual viewers but if they can keep up with the likes of Line of Duty/Vigil, it shouldn’t be an issue…) but it’s nice to have lots of threads dangling that will hopefully all tie together as we progress through the series!

It all felt so so fresh, almost like a different show but still keeping the same DNA. I think it’s definitely what the show needs at this point in time and I’m so excited to see how it all develops and delve into all the theories! It would be interesting to see how my outlook on this era would have been had this been the approach throughout, at times during that episode I actually felt some grief at the fact it was coming to an end!

Thought the Weeping Angels would have been featured more as they felt quite hyped up for this episode but it seems they’ll be returning in other episodes.

I think I was most shook at the Doctor mentioning the Division :cheeseblock: seemingly confirming that the Timeless Child storyline will be developed further! It seems the history with the big bad guy may have been during the Division? I think the soldiers who were supposed to be his guards had the same guns as the Fugitive Doctor had?

I've not been a fan of the Jodie era bar a few decent episodes, but the last Christmas special felt like a return to form, and so far the 1st episode of Flux was enjoyable. More of a world builder than anything else, but really entertaining, a few laughs, and a new villain who seems genuinely threatening, plus a few old favourites. This could be the best series of this era if it keeps up like this.

Hyperactive and OD on SFX. Apart from the dog-face, pure 70's Who. I'm not convinced by the script at this stage, though,

it was trying too hard to be fun and whimsical when whole planets are getting wiped out.

Completely got the mood wrong for me, and that intro was just silly, what are they doing,

James Bond where the villain puts the heroes in a complex trap so they can get out of it? Woof!

And the Right-On woke stuff still rules. John Bishop is as likeable as I expected him to be, and I love anything Liverpool

but Dan owns a house and literally has no food in the cupboard cos he's pissing about doing free guided tours, helping out at free food stores and refusing hand-outs while handing it out. And yet he's going out on a date who he arranges to meet on a dark streetcorner! What a dick! What does he do with his benefits!? I have good friends who are single men on benefits - they ain't starving! Cant buy new clothes or expensive holidays or Netflix, but they eat well.

Just ridiculous. Sigh, klunky emotional pity manipulating at best.

I could go on.... :teresa:

Well that was a lot of fun, completely agreed it was nice to finally not see three exposition dumps and the Doctor and instead genuine chemistry between the Doctor and Yaz and John Bishop is better than I thought. Hell of a lot going on, possibly too much which worries me a bit given the recent conclusions, but the fact it's over six parts certainly gives some breathing room and it was intriguing and wasn't wasting any time which is good to see, even just that one sequence with the Weeping Angel was enough to be a highlight *.* (My God, Chibnall, please don't make them shit)
