I really think some perspective is needed here :

The market isn’t what it was when 25 released so anybody expecting a repeat of that .. well, was always going to be disappointed.

Her whole album is top 12 on Spotify .. and her lowest song has been streamed 419,000 times - if a SINGLE by another artist managed those number we’d all be calling it a success.. and these are album tracks. So I’m really unable to understand the people calling any of this a disappointment.

We’ve had one of the biggest bands and 2 of the biggest solo starts of our generation all managing roughly the same ish.. - they’re not underperforming - they’re performing very well for the current climate. Because it has changed. End of.

IMO

Also - she’s had her peak era. So has Ed .. people generally have that peak in their career - they can’t keep performing the same forever

THANK YOU! Some sense.

Yeah tbf I did expect myself that some of her album tracks would cross a million on the first day, I think we're all just used to her been on a different level. -_-

Yeh true!

Is it too early for Christmas watch. A quick scan of the spotify charts website suggest Bad Bunny, Jhay Cortez's - Dakiti was the only non-Christmas song in 2020 to do more than 10 million streams globally in a single day.

This year there's been 51 occasions when songs have done 10m global streams in a single day and it's only November. Surely we going to be looking at potentially 25-30m global daily streams for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day?

Finally George Ezra is top 100 on Amazon with his Xmas exclusive!
Can we just take a moment and think about the fact that highest charting Drake track on global Spotify is at #64 :o Truly an underperformance of an era.

Shivers is back in the top 10 on AM. Adele still has the entire top 8
Finally got round to listening to 30 and boy is it dreary. I can't imagine anyone wanting to have it on repeat. I feel like it's streams will fall quickly, it really doesn't seem the sort of album after one listen people will be rushing to listen to again.

I mean that's just so subjective though isn't it? I can't imagine anyone wanting to have BTS on repeat, or Ed Sheeran on repeat, but clearly loads of people do and that's fine. It's exactly the same with Adele - you may not like it, but millions of people who aren't you will and will therefore stream it. I personally found it more immediate than her last 2 albums & have streamed it more than I listened to those already.

Well I wouldn't say it's subjective. Firstly some of the songs are overly long which doesn't lend itself to streaming or repeat listening. For me I see streaming as basically radio play and you have to ask yourself how many of those songs would you imagine hearing regularly on the radio?

What playlists do those dreary 6 minute songs fit on? Of course it will be popular but I think it will have a big decrease through the week as it's just not streaming friendly stuff.

Of course it's subjective. You use the term 'overly long'. That is your opinion, and may be shared by some people, but will not be shared by some people. An objective comment would be that they are longer than average song length. Whether they are overly long or not long enough is subjective.

You also have on two occasions called it 'dreary' which again is clearly your opinion. It may be that short, upbeat poppy songs work better for streaming, but that doesn't make your opinion on the quality of the songs objective, as many many people will consider her songs to be cathartic and enjoyable.

It is a critically acclaimed album and reviews from both official sources and the general public are significantly higher than all her previous albums and it is about to be the best selling album in years so personal taste and dislike of her music is the very definition of subjective, not objective.

Just because you do not like something does not mean other people won’t. I know plenty of people that are loving the album, and repeating it. It’s just silly to say that.

D-Block Europe x Ed Sheeran coming soon apparently

Adele has done it ALL WRONG. No wonder she's sending hrt flop to the new charts. She NEEDED to release Can I Get It? first and WEEKS before Easy On Me. She could have tsken on Cheesy Fad with that song, and it is FULL of life. Imagine hearing that bop on the radio and relaising it's new Adele?! Then, the week of Cheesy Fad's album or the week after, drop Easy on Me!!! Have it no.1 for a few weeks, and rhen post-album or concurrent eith the album, release the video for Oh My God!! Brits/ Grammys? Switch back to the teo bog ballads - Hold On and I Drink Sine!! 5 no.1s and a HUGR album right there. As is, it just looks to the gp as a 25 rehash.
Great to see some of the other tracks from 30 move up Spotify like I drink wine

1 Easy on me 780K

2 Oh My God 470K

3 I Drik Wine 386K

4 Can I Get it 381K
