If the 6 CD item does end up being a bundle including 5 individual member covers, then that's quite exciting! I think there's potential for them to sell better with a range of CDs than vinyl, and a lot more so than cassettes. The label's blind spot with CDs for Wannabe 25 and Spice 25 was weird, so I'm glad they've apparently seen the light.

117,99 € though... that's very pricey for CDs even if it is a bundle of them. Although one of them could be the equivalent to the Spice 25 2CD deluxe book which was pretty expensive.

I missed this as I was away! Tell me all!

LOL at the Mel B audio. Her Leeds accent is forever ICONIQUE!!

That Facebook group is so strange though lol they still have the Wannabe25 / I Am A Spice Girl banner as if it is May 2021 <_<

Yes girls what are you waiting for, empty my wallets

They just shared that same clip on their Instagram stories, so it looks like they are indeed gearing up to announce something

Now watch them wait another few weeks before the announcement actually goes live LOL :P

They really must have thought their Spiceworld globe would go viral after the James Webb photos!!!!  I CANNOT

Yeah it was lame as hell lol they didnt even set it up for it to go viral, they just dumped it on their instagram and then... crickets lol

Thing is after so long anything is going to see underwhelming now isn't it?

I'm over the waiting or being hyped.

Will today finally be the day of announcement? Idk what they are waiting for so long?

Friday isn't typically a day they announce on, so I'm not very hopeful of that! :( I'll guess Wednesday 7th September

They really testing our resilience arent they?.... It better be f***ing worth it!

I am no longer here for the whole 'variants with different covers ONLY' as I will only get one if thats the case. I will buy what brings new and worthy things to the table.

If they're really doing different artwork cover CDs, I would be completely shocked if each one had something different on it in terms of track list. Sadly Universal probably won't be that imaginative. I guess they'll think that different covers alone is enough of a selling point without needing to go one step further.

Im not sure to be honest. Chris Stroud said it wont be as expansive in terms of number of editions, so that makes me think the individual covers are not a thing this time...

I mean, did the individual vinyl and cassettes covers really do that well last time? We know that cassettes didnt particularly sell well, and it is not like the individual vinyls made it sell 5x more than a normal vinyl does. It was cute for Spice25 but not sure it will do as well a second time with no extra incentives, to be honest...

I just want:

1 x Vinyl standard

1 x Vinyl Delux

1 x Standard CD

1 x Standard Delux CD

Anything else I will only get if there are actual incentives beyond a different cover.

Well we saw on FNAC that there's supposedly something in terms of 6 CDs, remains to be seen what that means, but individuals CDs seems the most likely?

The Spice 25 cassettes didn't do particularly well - 1,219 sales in opening week. The vinyl did nicely enough though, 4,563 vinyl copies sold amongst 6 variants [well, technically more if the 2016 black or 2019 white sold anything that week]. As we know none of these vinyl offered anything new musically, just different artworks, so in that sense the vinyl sales were quite a success. Relatively speaking it was CD sales that severely let Spice 25 down, just 1,464 copies. That's meant to be the easiest format to sell, but they severely limited themselves with just one variant priced at £30.

If Spiceworld 25 has an array of CDs, that in theory should be a much easier sell than cassettes. I think they'd have potential to achieve more casual purchases than vinyl also.

Ah, I had a memory that it was much less than those numbers to be fair... Thanks for the reminder. Would be good to know how much the whole Spice25 campaign actually sold in the long run beyond the first week...

How, after 25 years, do we still not have a Spice-obsessed gay twink working for Universal/EMI to 'leak' those numbers??? JAY, don't you need a JOB??? *wink wink*

ANYWAY! Yeah, the individual covers only is kind of done now so I hope they focus on new incentives this time. I dont think I will invest in anything other than the list I posted above. Individual cover CDs might sound like a good idea in principle but I dont much care for it unless there are better incentives.

What I would hope for is -

Standard CD x 5 with slip case individual covers

Deluxe 2 CD set with Step to me and other rarities

Picture disc globe vinyl

Deluxe 2 vinyl edition with the rarities

HMV exclusive white vinyl

1 x standard cover cassette

They teased yesterday for nothing?? Worse marketing team ever. Can they learn anything from Steps???
The Spice 25 cassettes would probably have done better had they have variant covers like the vinyls.

If only! :cheeseblock:

Well in week 2 it plummetted to #207 lol and sold 867 copies (down from 7,798 the previous week). They needed to sell 19 more copies to stay Top 200 for a second week.

7,798 copies = 552 were digital (i.e. downloads + streaming) and 7,246 were physicals

867 copies = 313 were digital (-43.30%) and 554 were physicals (-92.38%)

The week they were #5, they were only 77 copies behind #4!

Preach! Steps constantly get it right for their fanbase, it would be a dream if the Spice Girls team could take cues from their marketing. These two globe image teases, 7 weeks apart from each other, and still no info... just awful.

I agree that the cassettes probably could have had more appeal if they'd had individual covers. I don't think different colour shells was enough to make many people feel that all 5 were necessary purchases.
