November 18, 20213 yr Author The F9 Edit is seemingly what is being pushed as the single version. Give it a listen and see if you have a change of heart? :thinking: I’m quite surprised the fanbase reaction is lukewarm to the song in its original form. I think it’s a very classy song… I love the synths you hear in the intro and after the choruses… and the girls’ pre-chorus is gorgeous, it has such a catchy melody. When it comes to downtempo moments in their catalogue, I think this is one of the few occasions they’ve created something that isn’t cheesy and/or boring. I mean, to my ears this is well above Words Are Not Enough or When I Said Goodbye. Although if the F9 edit is supposedly the single version, then they’ve actually delivered another bop for their run of singles.

November 18, 20213 yr Oh I hope it’s the original they release! Steps were known for their ballads as well as bops and we’ve not had one since story of a heart.

November 19, 20213 yr I think it's a nice song, and in a way I can see why they went with it as it's a "maturer" sound but it's far from being a fave. The chorus actually low-key annoys me. :ph34r: The cover is absolutely lovely, although I guess the only way it could be made better is if it said "Living in a Lie" instead of "A Hundred Years of Winter".
November 19, 20213 yr Well they totally ruined that song with the single edit, utterly terrible and what a boring video. It's not got any of the gorgeous build up, lyrics slashed, the gorgeous ending gone... really terrible edit that totally loses the feel of the song.
