November 26, 20214 yr Lewis Capaldi drops out of the Top 40 albums for the first time - Harry Styles now has the longest unbroken run there since debut.Β The George Ezra song has only reached #64 on Amazon thus far, but with most of the songs above it there either on ACR or starred out, it seems that alone is enough to chart officially.
November 26, 20214 yr Author I still think that is a bit iffy. The Alexa exclusive songs always seem to do better than what the data suggests they should which does make me wonder if they're fudging numbers (two Alexa songs in the top 5 last year was ridiculous and then we all know what happened the year before...)
November 26, 20214 yr Insert the next round of conspiracy theories re: the Amazon Christmas songs. (There were 3 of them charting in the Monday midweek update but as always they dropped hard over the week as Amazon's overweighting in the early midweeks wore off, George dropping 21 places and the other two (Olivia Dean - who? - and Camila Cabello) dropping out entirely from #80 and #100 respectively). edit: Dan beat me to it xx (I find their positions a little questionable as well but the Amazon streaming charts seem to behave in a weird way in general, at the end of the day it's fairly harmless though)Β Shame The Pogues ended up dropping back out after poking into the top 40 in the last midweeks but they should enter next week of course.Β Commented on this in the Ariana forum where it is surprisingly relevant but Dutchavelli is really not a name I expected to ever see in the top 100 again, he seemed like a rare case of an artist being 'cancelled' and it actually sticking, but I guess enough time has passed that the audience happy to listen to him is big enough for him to chart again.
November 27, 20214 yr thats pretty bizarre for the Ezra song, only being low top 100 on Amazon all week, not available anywhere else and then gets to a similar position in the top 100 come Friday. Β Raye must have complained to the OCC cos she's now credited in the Da Beatfreakz song :) Justice!!
November 27, 20214 yr I like some of the Amazon exclusives doing well, brings a bit of variety to the Xmas charts. Looking forward to listening to the George song if and when it does chart. Getting a Alexa for the wife for Xmas so will be doing a βplay Xmas songsβ from Christmas Day onwards to see how it shuffles!
November 27, 20214 yr Lol at the OCC's updated credits for 'Money Calling' billing wewantwraiths as 'WWW'.
November 27, 20214 yr hahaha it wouldn't fit otherwise :D the OCC really need to make some changes and have unlimited space for the artist credits
November 27, 20214 yr Author and also Lol that OCC have seemingly now credited the song to Beatfreakz who were a totally different group to Da Beatfreakz although at least the song doesn't show up on Beatfreakz' artist page meanwhile they still after all this time have both Auroras on the same page five years after our Pete pointed it out on their website
November 27, 20214 yr Aurora would have been two years old when the EDM group Aurora had their first hit
November 28, 20214 yr the Beatfreakz/Da Beztfreakz situation is the biggest mess ever on the OCC websiteΒ In the "B" section they have 1 entry for Beatfreakz, aka the dance band, then 1 entry for Beatfreakz/Dutch/Digdat/Young and 1 entry for Beatfreakz/Raye/Russ/WWW (Money Calling), the last 2 being in fact Da BeatfreakzΒ then in the "D" section, there is not a general entry for Da Beatfreakz but individual entries for each collab single, 6 in total, although some are empty when you click but more bizarrely they have a Da Beatfreakz/Russ Millions entry and if you click it's the Money Calling song but here just credited withour Raye and WWW :DΒ Β
