Just curious as I've never actually saw them live but I ended up randomly watching this video and was a little disappointed if it's accurate -

Has Perrie ever done her big note in Power live? And to sum that video up it basically suggests Jade mimed the most on the LM5 tour even the 'easy' stuff like Wasabi.

The thing is it is physically impossible for anybody to perform a set this long (with vocals as powerful as the ones use in a lot of their music) every night without damaging their vocal chords or to maintain decent sounding vocals whilst performing high energy choreography. We all know they can perform and sound amazing, a lot of warming up and vocal coaching has to be done before just a single performance but for the sake of a tour, it really is completely necessary for them to lip sync parts and is better in the long run for everybody.

Also I'd like to point out Jade was sick for a portion of the tour and if it was to do with her throat (which I believe it was) she couldn't be belting until she was 100% better otherwise she could permanently damage her voice. If you want to know why Bonnie Tyler sounds the way she does, it's because she forced herself to sing whilst she was sick but she was lucky that the result was/is considered a quirky rasp.

Oh yeah, I fully understand that (particularly for Perrie) songs like Power would have to have lip syncing due to the choreography and the growling and belting but I guess I was just curious to see other parts of songs that have never really been done fully live. It's easier to spot lip syncing on a TV performance but on tour it's more difficult.

The Brits performance of Woman Like Me was fully mimed right? I was convinced Perrie was the only one singing live (Jesy and Leigh are horrible at miming and Jade was very unconvincing a few times) but if not then she must be amazing at lip syncing.

They do lip synch to pre-recorded live vocals a lot, i've noticed that a lot during the "Glory Days"

era, other than that, they used to only lip synch choruses of their songs.

This is v accurate.

It's also worth pointing out that Perrie didn't lipsync (besides choruses) on the Get Weird tour, and well we heard the damage it caused to her voice - I don't mind that they occasionally lipsync with the amount they bounce around and dance.

Jesy was always the worst for lipsyncing as she is so bad at it - Jade lipsyncing the Wasabi verses doesn't surprise me considering the choreo she was doing (whilst it isn't hard choreo there's a lot of core work involved)

They lipsync more on tour due to the above reasons - although on TV a lot of what they do is live, unless it's a big dance-based performance (some of Woman Like Me was live, more specifically Perrie at the end)

Every artist lipsyncs - Beyoncé even does it, a lot (she's just very good at it) but we know she can still SING because she's proven it enough times - but her vocals go hard on choruses and there's no point in singing a live chorus if it's not a ballad/midtempo/low energy song

Not sure what led to this, but there's this couple on YouTube that react to videos - they're called Trapp and Kush. They've been on LM case, especially Leigh-Anne, and they think LM weren't singing live on the Jonathan Ross Sweet Melody performance. Was just going through my mind, then I saw this. I always thought that performance was live, and I still think it was.

It's not easy singing live every night on tour, especially the solo artists that do ballads a lot - like Adele. It's damaging; yet that's what most fans enjoy more.

I think Leigh has lipped every performance of Sweet Melody so far (she's sounded EXACTLY the same in each of them, very audible and 'smooth' yet she's doing choreo during her section which makes it more obvious) but I thought Jade was singing live at least on them as her ad-libs looked very convincing...

I've noticed over the years it was always Jesy and Leigh-Anne who would lip sync the most, i've noticed Leigh do it a lot but I don't really care about lip syncing if someone is putting on a show.

Yeah; on tour I don't care either way tbh if it's a high energy highly produced number which most of theirs are. You don't massively notice live vocals unless it's a ballad and I'd rather they mimed than held the microphone to the audience like they did for so much of the last show I was at. It's comforting knowing little mix CAN sing.
Yes I hate that holding the microphone to the audience. And Little Mix UK audiences can be so boring, making it all worse. An audience like their Brazil show would be better at least.

my biggest pet peeve is this - I get that they love people joining in but for a ballad like.. just SING it..

Jesy was the worst for this

Quite often people will sing along too or mime to pre-recorded love vocals. Unless it's a song with no choreo. But doing a set that long with rehearsals, day after day...nobodies voice can handle that.
