Sounds like ‘Beautiful People’ by Marilyn Manson, not a bad thing though! (Well the song anyway...)

And here is ‘Kill Or Be Killed’! Bringing old Muse vibes, and sounds just as good as it did live at IOW last month

That latest single '...Halloween' could not sound more 1984 if they tried. Genuinely thought it was some obscure oldie when I first heard it

This became their seventh consecutive number one album on Friday with opening week sales over 50k, which was great to see. I certainly wouldn't call it their best album to date but I've really enjoyed the singles from it, Compliance in particular is a great catchy tune! We Are F***ing F***ed is my favourite of the album tracks, such an anthem :lol:

The title track of this was awful, easily the worst song on the album and god knows why it was a single. Enjoyed the rest of the singles ('Won't Stand Down' still easily the best of the 4) so gave the album a listen and there are a couple of other solid highlights - 'You Make Me Feel Like It's Halloween' doesn't sound like a Muse song at all but it's a bop, also really liked 'Verona' and 'Ghosts (How Can I Move On)' is lovely too (I see that one seems to be the collective least fave among the fanbase oops but I liked it).

 

There is a degree of having to go out of my way to not pay attention to the lyrics to be able to enjoy a lot of these songs though - I know they've never exactly been the best lyrical band but it's really noticeably lacking more than ever on this!

Honestly the title track is my favourite thing from them in quite a while :lol: lots of this album is very good though, ‘Halloween’ is my current fave and perfect for the season.

 

I'm obsessed with 'You Make Me Feel Like It's Halloween' - it's the least Muse-y Muse song ever but I love it! Cool video too.

 

Can we get this to become an annually returning Halloween classic please?

Considering most Halloween songs do better in the chart at the end of Halloween week (mostly because they get streamed loads on the day itself), I think it probably has a better chance this way!

^^ This, physical sales and Halloween streams will hit in the same week - would love it to be a surprise hit even if it’s only a 1 week wonder.

I keep wanting to break into Gimme, Gimme, Gimme by Abba when the pre-chorus drop hits.

 

I like this a lot but I need an organ solo in it instead of guitar.

I personally think this is muse's worst album to date easily. The cringe, corny and bland all come across badly on this record.

Received my ‘You Make Me Feel Like It’s Halloween’ vinyl - they are numbered out of 10,000 so plenty produced. Was hoping it would have a bit of traction on iTunes and be added to some Halloween playlists on streaming but it doesn’t seem to have happened :nocheer:
