India pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah took eight wickets to help his side win the day-night Test against Sri Lanka by 238 runs and wrap up a 2-0 series victory.

The hosts scored 252, with Shreyas Iyer scoring 92, before Bumrah took 5-24 as Sri Lanka were bowled out for 109.

India then declared on 303-9 to leave the tourists needing 447 for victory.

Sri Lanka's Dimuth Karunaratne scored 107 but his side were bowled out for 208 - with Bumrah taking 3-23 - as they lost within three days.

England's hopes of defending the Women's World Cup are hanging by a thread after an agonising three-wicket defeat by South Africa in Mount Maunganui.

With three defeats from as many games, England are not yet eliminated, but will need to win all of their remaining four matches and hope other results go their way to reach the semi-finals.

Taken to 235-9 by half-centuries from Tammy Beaumont and Amy Jones, England were once again blighted by a raft of missed chances in the field.

Laura Wolvaardt took advantage of three dropped catches and a missed stumping in making 77.

The draft for the men's Hundred and announcement of new women's signings has been pushed back a week to avoid clashing with Shane Warne's state funeral.

The new date will be 5 April as Warne's funeral will take place on 30 March, when the draft was initially scheduled.

England's leading Test wicket-taker James Anderson says he has "made peace" with being dropped for the West Indies tour.

The 39-year-old was left out of the squad for the current three-Test series, along with Stuart Broad, 35.

He says he is now focusing on performing for Lancashire when the County Championship starts next month.

England will have no room for complacency when they meet Pakistan in the Women's World Cup, says captain Heather Knight.

The defending champions are set to make the semi-finals if they beat Pakistan on Thursday and Bangladesh on Sunday.

England have not lost any of the 10 one-day internationals they have played against Pakistan.

Former Yorkshire chairman Colin Graves has told the BBC he has backed crucial changes to the club's rules, and that the county "needs to move on".

The England and Wales Cricket Board says the reforms must be approved if lucrative international hosting rights are to be reinstated at Headingley.

The club were banned from hosting major matches in November over their handling of the Azeem Rafiq racism scandal.

Yorkshire potentially risked bankruptcy if the hosting rights had not returned.

Jason Roy has been given a suspended two-match international ban and fined £2,500 following an England and Wales Cricket Board disciplinary hearing.

Roy admitted a charge of "conducting himself in a manner which may be prejudicial to the interests of cricket or which may bring the game of cricket, the ECB and himself into disrepute".

An ECB statement added the ban was suspended for 12 months.

However, there was no information about the nature of the Roy's offence.

Worcestershire have signed ex-West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo and New Zealand batter Colin Munro as their overseas players for the T20 Blast.

Bravo, 38, will make the Rapids his fifth county, after stints at Kent, Essex, Surrey and Middlesex.

Munro, 35, returns for a third spell at New Road having previously had stints in 2014 and 2015.

He has also played in England for Hampshire, and featured in The Hundred last year for Manchester Originals.

Bravo was a member of the West Indies side which won the T20 World Cup in both 2012 and 2016 before he retired from all forms of international cricket in November 2021.

Jack Leach and Saqib Mahmood were England's unlikely saviours after the tourists' top order collapsed on day one of the decisive third Test against West Indies.

Having been asked to bat first on a lively pitch, England crumbled to 114-9 before Leach and Mahmood shared a crucial last-wicket partnership of 90 in Grenada.

Mahmood was bowled in the final over of the day for 49, his highest score in professional cricket, but not before he and Leach had dragged England to 204.

It's a strange match. The same thing happened on day 2 with West Indies collapsing and then their tail enders staging a recovery. It looks like we'll get a result from this match after the first two tests ended in draws on wickets that gave no help to the bowlers.

England are set for another humiliating defeat after enduring a wretched third day of the decisive third Test against West Indies in Grenada.

Having begun with hopes of pushing for victory themselves, the tourists were thwarted by the West Indies lower order before they collapsed in abject fashion in their second innings.

They ended the day 103-8, just 10 runs ahead of West Indies with two days to go.

England will face South Africa in the semi-finals of the Women's World Cup after an efficient defeat of Bangladesh in Wellington.

The 100-run success at the Basin Reserve continued a strong resurgence from the defending champions, who have won four successive matches after beginning the tournament with three straight losses.

On a tired surface, England started with circumspection against a hard-working Bangladesh attack, at one stage finding themselves 96-4.

England fast bowler Mark Wood has undergone surgery on a right elbow injury sustained during the drawn first Test against West Indies.

The 32-year-old was only able to bowl five overs before leaving the field on the third day in Antigua.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said Saturday's operation "removed bone and scar tissue to address an impingement problem".

"He'll now commence rehabilitation with the ECB and Durham," the ECB added.

And what a comeback from England in this tournament. One of the positives I have had from watching this is the development of Charlie Dean. She looks as if she enjoys the warm up throws as well as the actual bowling.

The other semi-final will be Australia vs West Indies after a very close match between South Africa and India. Watched the end of it, very nerve wracking...

This is Tom Harrison’s legacy. He should be really proud of himself.
