Well isn't hindsight a wonderful thing! If a last stint on softs was the best strategy then why did only McLaren do it? Cos they had nothing to lose. Imagine if the softs fell off a cliff and they had to pit again, they'd look like chumps.

Most teams and Pirelli believed the softs wouldn't last and therefore most were used up during practice and quali. Ricciardo had a set left because he hadn't reached Q3.

However, Mercedes still ballsed up their strategy because early on it was obvious that Max was extending their lifespan beyond what was expected and was only going to stop once. Mercedes then needed to switch to a two stopper, probably with a shorter stint on hards to give Lewis a chance to fight back as there was no way he was going catch him otherwise

Best driver: Max Verstappen

Worst driver: Nicholas Latifi

Best Team: Mercedes

Worst Team: Haas

Best Overtake: Ocon on Bottas

Worst overtake: Ricciardo on Tsunoda

Best Moment: Perez gesturing to the fans not to boo Lewis

Worst Moment: Realising it was all over when Verstappen was able to go long on the softs

Best Thing About The Race: Ricciardo gave us something to watch

Worst Thing About The Race: Boring

And the race in a sentence: Yawn

Legendary Ferrari designer Mauro Forghieri has died at the age of 87.

The Italian was an iconic figure who oversaw four Formula 1 drivers' championships and seven constructors' titles in his 27 years with the team.

Forghieri was a true engineering all-rounder, creating innovations in chassis, engine and gearbox design.

He designed some of Ferrari's most famous cars, including the 312 T series that won three drivers' and four constructors' titles from 1975-79.

How do we feel about Red Bull boycotting the trio of Sky Channels over Sky UKs blatantly biased coverage and ongoing comments? Verstappen lives rent free in Kravitz head. That’s for sure.

I can’t actually watch the British feed anymore. It has been so bad for years. The bias towards anyone british is just intolerable. It was never quite this bad when it was on council telly. And this isn’t a Sky cultural thing, it’s a British one because the German feed is excellent and has never showed blatant favouritism towards any team or driver - even the German ones

I support the boycott and my hope is that when they lift it, they only do so for Sky Germany and Sky Italy- and only send speakers of those languages out there for interviews so Sky UK can’t reuse them

I always watch F1 with the Spanish commentators/De La Rosa etc it's 1 million times better than Sky, which is totally unwatchable I agree

it's like if only the British drivers exist

I can see why RB have done it, there's a definite bias from some in the Sky team, particularly Kravitz, Crofty is nauseating too. Having said that the UK broadcasting has never been shy of this, Murray Walker was particularly ott around Mansell and Hill to the point of irritation. Red Bull have made their point though and shouldn't over indulge in it.

Looking at the reaction from people it hasn't come across particularly well. Lots of 'toys out of the pram' and 'defelcting because their cheats' type comments, this not being helped by F1 press, websites expecially, descending in to sensationalist headlines to get clicks making comments section turn in to a series of 'crashtappen's a cheat' vs 'lulu is a crybaby' posts that do nothing except fuel division and tribalism among an audience, a large percentage of which are fairly new to the sport and think that statistics like most wins ever or most points ever have any real meaning beyond their own era.

But back to the point Sky should have dropped Kravitz years ago in favour of someone with a more professional and objective approach. His role as pit lane reporter is a good idea but the man works it like a fool.

No one outside of Sky's team takes up as much of their programmes as Christian Horner, and frankly I'll be delighted to see much less of him.

I wonder if this will be Gasly's last race for Alpha Tauri.

For context, he has 10 points on his license and another penalty will almost certainly see him banned for one race. The 10 points he has will not drop until May next year. Would he rather sit out Abu Dhabi than get a ban while in his first few months or driving for Alpine?

And let's face it he hasn't been particularly happy with AT in the last few races. I'm not even sure the AT would mind that much and they could give someone else a run in their car

I read something earlier suggesting Gasly should take a tactical penalty to wipe the slate clean. He’d be the first person to take a penalty point ban in quite a few years

The first driver ever, actually.

Grosjean was handed a race ban for his role in the mayhem at Spa in 2012 but this was before the penalty points system existed. There have been a few in F2 though

What would be the easiest way to pick up the points necessary for a race ban? Track limits is easy but think it's only worth one point so would have to do it a lot. Something like crossing the white line on pit entry/exit seem or cutting a corner to gain an advantage seem like the 'safest' but would appear really obvious, but then I think anything would do, and surely he wouldn't do anything genuinely dangerous or cause a collision?

Ignoring blue flags seems to be the easiest way. Seems to be a slam dunk 2 points as is failing to observe yellows or entering a closed pit.

Ericsson also got 3 points for a false start a few years back and Kvyat got 2 for incorrectly lining up on the grid

Formula 1 drivers are pushing for a change in the penalty points system to prevent drivers being banned from races for frivolous offences.

Alpha Tauri's Pierre Gasly said before the Sao Paulo Grand Prix that he was "a bit embarrassed" to be two licence points off a mandatory one-race ban.

Mercedes driver George Russell said: "The penalty does not fit the crime, especially in Pierre's case."

Any news if Schumacher is to keep his seat?

71 laps of the 4.309-kilometre Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace in Brazil

11th November Practice 1........15:30 - 16:30

11th November Qualifying........19:00 - 20:00

12th November Practice 2........15:30 - 16:30

12th November Sprint...............19:30 - 20:30

13th November Race................14:00 - 16:00

All times are UK times.

K-Mag's hugely popular pole position may stand but the sprint format will almost certainly deny him the chance to start a Grand Prix at the front.
