Apparently Stefano Domenicali has offered to halve the number of sprint races this year in order to get the required number of teams to agree.

Positive signs for those who would rather keep the budget cap as is and lose the sprints altogether

Interesting to see we’ve already gotten rid of half of them. If they keep arguing we will be back at Nil. They don’t appear to have much value in them. Only 10m per team, and if they’re arguing about eating half of that in extended costs and damage then what’s the point at all

In unsurprising news, Haas launched a new livery that you’d need a PHD in spot the difference to find any changes. Interesting side pod design vs the F1 spec car tho

If Hamilton were to retire in the future, who do you think will take his seat?
Tough to call until we know what's going on with the other teams and indeed which are the most competitive cars when the time arrives.

Lando Norris has signed a new contract to stay at McLaren until the end of 2025.

The 22-year-old, one of the stars of last season, said the move was "a very strong message" about his faith in McLaren's potential.

I like the look of the RB18 there. Has a very '90s feel about it, but Horner has said the version that will show up in Bahrain will look quite different

The Haas is likely to look rather different come Barcelona too, according to Steiner.

The really interesting thing about the Haas is how small the sidepod air intakes are compared to the concept car, and the RB18. What will be really interesting will be when we see the Ferrari as well. If the intakes are just as small on that it will all but confirm the rumours about the size of the Ferrari PU. If it truly is as light and powerful as thought, they could have quite a strong package to work with.

Will be interesting to compare with the first Merc car to launch and then the Renault-Alpine - especially the Alpine as that Renault Engine hasn’t been updated in three years

A lack of sidepod cooling requirements for the Ferrari would be interesting. The triangle airbox appears to have stayed on that car as well. As you say it’s all very interesting for a potential strong factory package.

Personally I am hoping that the Merc is a total dog because lord oh lord a really competitive scrappy year between a few teams would be mega for the sport

Agreed, green is my fave colour so the Aston will always be my fave livery but particularly this season with the yellow stripe is banging 👌

Small sidepod inlets, like the Haas, and a looooooooot of grills is an interesting combination. Long sidepod as well. Suggests the packaging of the Merc isn’t as best and compact as the Ferrari but I imagine the Merc itself will be neater packaged than the customer cars

The Aston definitely the best looking of the four so far, hopefully an improvement during the racing on last year too where it was too dark and didn't stand out.
Aston Martin gave their new car a full shakedown at Silverstone yesterday with both drivers commenting that the new tyres lose grip quickly and without warning. If Pirelli cant fix it, that will make things interesting at some point this year.

Ah fab. So we are in for more tyre saving and thus lack of racing than under the current regs. 🙃

Can someone got Michelin on the phone?

Or we could finally do away with one stop races. Maybe even other cars will have differing rates of wear and we could find it varies greatly depending on temperature. I've no idea but I'm hoping this could be a good thing
