Everyone's still saying it and the timesheets do suggest that Ferrari is the car to beat this year.

But we've been here before

Somehow Mercedes will most likely find something or they are sandbagging.

Yup, 2018 vibes.

Formula 1 says it is monitoring any potential impact on the Russian Grand Prix following the country’s invasion of its neighbour Ukraine.

Pretty much leaked they're looking to replace it with Turkey as much as they shush such rumours. Let's be honest every F1 fan on the planet would welcome that move even disregarding the political stuff.

Sebastian Vettel says he will not race in the Russian Grand Prix if Formula 1 still visits there later this year following the country’s invasion of Ukraine.

^ Turkey would be a very much welcome replacement, Dobbo.

The World Champion has also added his voice to those suggesting the Russian GP should not go ahead, but has stopped short of saying he'll boycott it.

Meanwhile, it is yet to be clear how any international sanctions on the Russian state and individuals might impact on the Haas team.

Has have announced they will remove the Russian flag colours and Uralkali logos from their car for tomorrow's test running. No statement on if this is a permanent move

It looks much nicer now it’s not a Russian flag. I hope it’s permanent. This might also be the way we eject Mazepin out of the sport too if his daddy can’t pay the bill no more.

As for Sochi, it’s a rancid track and we should never have raced there. Getting replaced by Turkey would be wonderful. Russia should be stripped of its sportwashing opportunities

Haas are to review the status of title sponsor Uralkali next week. Gunther Steiner has stated the loss of sponsorship deal would not drop the team in to financial difficulties. However, it could impact whether or not Mazepin remains in the car.

Getting rid of Sochi and Mazepin in one move. F1 finally taking out the trash

Neither will be missed by anyone

Pietro Fittipaldi is first in line to replace Nikita Mazepin if he is unable to continue driving for Haas.

Team principal Guenther Steiner confirmed the team’s reserve driver will have the “first call” on the seat. Steiner admitted earlier today that Mazepin’s future at the team is unsure as Haas may be about to split from title sponsor Uralkali.

Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto says the Scuderia still have plenty more pace to show, after a productive time in Barcelona.

Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc combined to rack up more laps than any other team throughout the pre-season shakedown, with 439 tours around the Circuit de Catalunya as the team collected valuable data on the 2022 cars for the first time.

FIA statement -

Russian/Belarusian drivers, individual competitors and officials to participate in international/zone competitions only in their neutral capacity and under the “FIA flag”, subject to specific commitment and adherence to the FIA’s principles of peace and political neutrality, until further notice

In effect, Mazepin can still race as a neutral
