Thom Yorke & Jonny Greenwood formed supergroup The Smile with Sons of Kemet's Tom Skinner last year, making their first appearance at 'Live at Worthy Farm' last year... and now they've finally released their debut single! 'You Will Never Work In Television Again' is out now.

Was gonna start a thread but I see one already has, they need more discussion! I've really been loving the singles and the album, A Light for Attracting Attention is out now, along with Thin Thing which is easily the best one so far for me

Will try and give the album a listen at some point, getting good reviews x

That first single didn't do much for me but the following 3 were a lot better ('Skrting On The Surface' is my fave of the first 4 <3 apparently is a version of an unreleased song that Radiohead performed live a decade ago so hooray for it finally being released properly in some form). I will check out the rest of the album (in a few weeks xx).

love this! it really sounds like. new Radiohead album, very much in the style of King of Limbs

really liked Speech Bubbles and Open the Floodgates on first listen, more traditional Radiohead sounding

and the closing track Skrting on the Surface, wow, what an album closer! Thom played it solo in 2009 already

amazing review on Pitchfork (an 8.6):

After listening through this I really question the single choices here. That lead single is comfortably the worst song on the entire album for me - what a false impression that initially made me think I wasn't going to care at all for this project - and the second single 'The Smoke' is one of the weaker tracks as well! 'Skrting On The Surface', 'Free In The Knowledge' and 'Thin Thing' were much better choices (and 'Pana-vision' to some extent) but even then, despite releasing so many singles, I think my biggest faves are still ending up being album tracks - 'The Same' is a great opener and then the entire run of the final 5 tracks is brilliant. I'm not sure there's any one individual track that stands out as a huge favourite for me (will see if any of those album tracks prove to grow on me more) but it's really great and consistent as a whole body of work. Taking off the first single anyway. I didn't think that even made much sense in the context of the album.

This new one stopped me dead in my tracks  challenging 'Waving A White Flag' as my favourite song from this project now
