Posted January 7, 20223 yr Since being named in the NME 100 Kid Kapichi have released their debut album, sold out their Autumn tour and seen their profile continue to steadily rise despite the restrictions of last year. This week they release their first new material of 2022, a collaboration with the equally tipped Punk/Grime crossover artist, Bob Vylan. The two artists together were never going to tone down their socially conscious lyrical content and New England focuses again on the current state of modern Britain. omMN8o2UDlU
January 7, 20223 yr Oh I thought before I heard it this might of sampled the Billy Bragg/Kirsty MacColl song of the same name. Anyway this sounds like a great tune!
January 11, 20223 yr Only previously known of them from that one song you sent to Nuggets but I'm liking this song a lot more than I liked that one iirc. Thematically reminiscent of some of the stuff off slowthai's debut album. And that instrumental *.*
January 12, 20223 yr Yeah I’m really enjoying this! Both groups have been on my radar for a while, but I think this is the only thing from either that’s stood out to me. (‘GDP’ by Bob Vylan is decent though)
June 22, 20223 yr They’ve released new single ‘Rob the Supermarket’ in the last week, and alongside it they’ve announced that their second Alvin ‘Here’s What You Could Have Won’ will be released on Sept 23rd! oNBOCejGiTU
June 22, 20223 yr Author And only a couple of weeks since they finally released Party at No. 10 as a single, too. They're spoiling us Also, the album will be coming out on Spinefarm, making it their first release that isn't independent Edited June 22, 20223 yr by Severin
July 30, 20222 yr Author -W_38ox5AQM Latest single. I'm surprised they've made this a single. I've always considered this one quite unremarkable
September 9, 20222 yr Author b1bW2MBdyLw I.N.V.U. is the supposedly final single from the upcoming album. This may take some getting used to as it's very untypical of them
September 9, 20222 yr Oh I wasn’t expecting that! It’s quite reminiscent of the recent post-punk wave, I quite like it
March 6, 20232 yr l_dtlOg3UIE I love everything about this. Why was this not a single (yet) x ('Rob The Supermarket' was a bit of a banger too)
March 6, 20232 yr Author Yeah the singles choices were a bit odd on this album. New England and Supermarket were a given and Party at No.10 was an OK choice but INVU and 5 Days on were quite weak. Would have swapped them out for Smash the Gaff and either Supersoaker or Cops & Robbers easily.
