SubWoolfer – “Give That Wolf a Banana”

Christian Ingebrigtsen – “Wonder of the World”

Anna-Lisa Kumoji – “Queen Bees”

Elsie Bay – “Death of Us”

On first listen I really enjoy 'death of us', would not be disappointed if it represented norway.

Interesing names here - Mira Craig (of course <3), Christian from A1, Mari Bølla - who had a good song out last year called Not That Girl.

Will take a listen soon!

MGP 2021 was my first live MGP. I kinda expected a few of the names to follow over to 2022 but I guess not?

Giving the tracks a spin now, but have a few geoblocked still.

A bit shocked Emelie Hollow did not make the final cut given her name has been mentioned a lot before the reveal

Maybe listening to the tracks before the performance wasn't a good idea... There isn't much here, is there?

We were spoiled last year... Monument, World On Fire, Feel Again, Hero, Witch Woods, Let Loose ect. I find it hard to believe nobody from last year wanted to take part again this year.

Oh well, at least is something for a few weeks until Melfest returns.

It's an ok selection, a lot of super dated sounding stuff and songs that sound like parodies of what a Eurovision song is supposed to sound like

However, I like and have added the following to my playlists, with my early favourite at the top:

Elsie Bay – “Death of Us” This is brilliantly atmospheric and well produced, could definitely see it top ten at Eurovision

Mari Bølla – “Your Loss” Going for the Olivia Rodrigo vote here clearly, but who can blame her, I like this a lot

Anna-Lisa Kumoji – “Queen Bees”

Mira Craig – “We Still Here” <3 Bless her, never change. It will flop as hard as Headhunted did in BJSC and is completely cut from the same cloth

Sofie Fellvjang – “Made of Glass”

SubWoolfer – “Give That Wolf a Banana”

Christian Ingebrigtsen – “Wonder of the World” A little overwrought maybe but lovely melody, he's always known his way around a decent ballad

VILDA – “Titans”

NorthKid – “Someone”

Alexandra Joner – “Hasta la vista”

Elsie has been installed as the early favourite, and it would be a really good entry for Norway. SubWoolfer second favourite and I wouldn't be surprised to see it snatch the win, it could potentially go viral in the same way The Fox by Ylvis did? Whether that translates to it winning a national final I don't know.

There's theories going around that SubWoolfer *are* Ylvis!

Ha! I’m not altogether surprised to hear that but surprised they didn’t just go by the Ylvis name if so.

Am I the only one who thinks Titans sounds like Chandelier?

Not sure why some people say it is the worst MGP yet. There are some amazing bangers as well as ballads. I think Norway is guaranteed another spot in the final with the quality they have. Definitely the best national selection so far with no songs rated as fail for me.

I've only checked out three of these so far but I've never needed a song to win a selection so badly as Subwoolfer

Mira Craig :cheeseblock:

It’s extremely Mira Craig in the best and most bonkers of ways. Absolutely here for it. Love her

Ecstasy really isn't that girl, is she.

Shouty.

Nevermind. Ecstasy wins the duel for me. Mira's song is absolute garbage.

Duel 2 > Duel 1 the men absolutely dominated this heat.

I'm now worried about the flood of solo female artists we have this year because they didn't bring it this heat.
