January 27, 20223 yr Wow this is excellent. What a jam! It sounds like something that has real hit potential, hopefully the familiar chorus melody helps it.
January 27, 20223 yr ooh i wasn't expecting garage, this is a banger! i wish rina did a bit more though, like joining charli at the end or something rather than just the one verse?
January 28, 20223 yr INSTANTLY OBSESSED I agree that I wish there was more Rina than just one verse but that's my only gripe. UNF, a soooooooooooong *.*
January 28, 20223 yr I think it's just fine, so that in itself has left me feeling rather disappointed... I was expecting so much more from this collaboration. :( To me, it meanders along in a reasonably pleasant way, melodically, though Charli's vocals don't sound particularly good to me. The interpolation itself doesn't go off anywhere near to the extent of the September song... it sounds quite watered down. Then there's a reasonably catchy hook at the end but nothing too exciting, not something that truly lifts the song. I mean, I like it, it's nice. I wasn't anticipating "nice" from Charli and Rina though. Hopefully it'll prove to be a grower and I end up as obsessed as the rest of you.
January 28, 20223 yr A tuneee! First Charli single I'm liking in a while. The clubby, garage production is fab. I wouldn't have guessed Digital Farm Animals was involved at all, given his recent generic form. The Cry for You interpolation makes it proper catchy. My only complaint is that it's too short (I feel like I say this about literally every pop release these days ) They could have squeezed in a bridge/middle eight in there and it would have been amazing.
January 28, 20223 yr Very good but.... not as great as I thought it would be. My own fault for building up the hype as much as I did in my head. Still, as I said, I do really like it!

I can't help to feel that this is to appeal to the TikTok crowd and Spotify. People's attention spans are just short these days I guess.
January 28, 20223 yr This is disappointing because 'Cry for You' is an absolute gem - the bar is so high
January 28, 20223 yr I'm gonna have to agree with Jay. As a huge Charli truther I'm a bit disappointed - I was played the demo last year so have been really excited for this. But the whole thing just sounds super rough, in fact it still sounds like a demo and Charli's vocals are... hmmm Edited January 28, 20223 yr by 365
January 28, 20223 yr In full this feels underwhelming. There is a lack of instrumentation in the instrumental drop. Since the song sounds similar to Cry For You and Falling Apart, you do feel there is a lot coming in the production side during the drop but it couldn't quite deliver. I think not having a bridge and a final chorus works fine for this song, but certainly won't mind one either with a more emphatic finish. Love the melody though, but there are a lot more better upbeat songs out there that varies more and with better production.
