I have now finished the book.

Enjoyable and you can tell it has really come from her! I had to laugh at her still not being able to see how shit the musical was !!!

On on page she hints at Victoria may join them for a big project but on another page mentions they have never been asked to do Glastonbury!

As a huge fan i am not sure i learnt anything new.

Really? So you had known about the massage incident in Istanbul before reading the book? That she lost £250,000 on the musical? The reason she requested to record Forever alone? And I could go on and on... :o

^ you make a good point

I guess i mean not a lot was new and those things you mentioned i saw in spoilers.

The massage story is hard to discuss :(

The Sunday Times bestsellers list

General hardbacks

7. Who I Am - Melanie C

What life was like as a member of one of the most successful pop acts of all time

Sales - 4,210

Obviously a top 10 is great but I feel a little for her as she has done great promo, signings and the usual mad fans have got multiple copies (one we all know for better or worse had 8 copies on his insta). She deserves better than 4.2k sales.

I’m not up to date with all the latest book releases, charts, sales etc but I thought it would do a little more just because of the promo and Q&A events.

The magazine said sales from Sept 17

I’m guessing it may not include Sept 15/16 sales?

Do you know how many copies Emma sold of her book last year, I know it reached #6 but there were no sales if memory serves me right.

We did get sales I remember them being posted it was over 5k iirc. I love Emma but Mel's book defo deserved to sell more than Emma's for sure.

Mel B’s Brutally Honest debuted at No.4 and I did some searching online today and it sold 11k. Obviously a completely different story and also around the same time of the tour announcement. However, hardcore fans were going to buy the book regardless.
Top 5 is great but like others have said i thought she might be higher and definitely sell more as she has done some great promo, hopefully unlike her albums it will sell decent enough outside debut week,.

She actually didn't do any signings (apart from the one in Ireland yesterday, which didn't count for the book's UK sales obviously).

Let's also not forget these are just physical sales. That figure doesn't include e-book and audiobook sales.

Anyway, I'm sure she and her publisher are happy with the results.

What's more, it will continue to sell up to Christmas and into the new year. Spiceworld's album & movie anniversaries, as well as an upcoming tour announcement, will help sustain interest in the book.

On Amazon she’s back around the top50-60.

I have the feeling this is going to sell well outside debut week as Feel The Fever said.

She still has some promo booked and there are many UK celebs sharing their book pics on IG

See? It's very easy to mix things up, even for you. :)

Lol I’d say mixing up VMAs vs EMAs is a slight oversight on my part, the acronyms of those awards shows are easy to mix up. But well done on the “Gotcha!” moment :P

It’s just interesting to me that essentially everything she describes from 1999 and 2000… isn’t particularly close to the reality of the situation, sort of vaguely close if you completely disregard specific details and timings, whereas her recollections of 94-98 events actually are really strong.

I'm confused. If you enlarge one of the pics below, it says "for the week ending 17/09/22". Doesn't it mean the chart counts sales registered up to September 17th?

^ I know, I was just teasing you. ;)

:kink: Ha, sorry for being defensive! 🫢

Not trying to be messy with what I’m about to ask, but does anyone have the book chart data for how Emma’s You Got This & Mel B Brutally Honest did? All I can find is #6 for Emma and “Top 5” for Mel B, but no sales. And also not sure if those stats for Emma and Mel B were specifically the Hardback chart like Melanie C? (Edit: Just seen all this was already asked and answered, oops)

I’m also a bit confused by the chart in terms of how many days it counts sales for. I looked back and Emma’s book also came out on a Thursday (10th June 2021) but Mel B’s was on a Tuesday (27th Nov 2018).
