The impact of Jessie Ware's 2020 album powered onward as "Remember Where You Are" became a surprise #1 early in the year, with "Please" from the Platinum edition of What's Your Pleasure? becoming another high charter. One of 2021's biggest stars Lil Nas X teamed up with Jack Harlow on the mega smash "INDUSTRY BABY" reaching #3 on the Multi, the same peak as Nathan Evans' viral sea shanty hit "Wellerman", and if dodgy, unnecessary remakes are your thing then "Rasputin" is here too

Fell behind but three of my personal chart #1s have shown up since I last caught up - 'The Last Man On Earth', 'I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE' and 'INDUSTRY BABY

16 1073 ATB, Topic & A7S - Your Love (9PM) (42-26-24-9-9-7-6-7-7-6-6-9-10-13-24-16-32-46-72-xx) [19 wks]

17 1066 Doja Cat feat. SZA - Kiss Me More (37-15-5-6-5-7-8-8-9-7-12-9-16-18-19-31-40-xx-75-62-65-xx) [20 wks]

18 1023 Lil Nas X - MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name) (15-1-1-1-1-2-2-4-7-12-15-18-22-34-53-56-54-63-60-xx) [19 wks]

19 1021 Olivia Rodrigo - déjà vu (24-15-8-4-4-3-3-3-7-11-17-19-30-41-43-53-55-60-59-66-59-66-xx) [22 wks]

20 1015 Dua Lipa - We're Good (6-4-5-3-2-2-2-3-4-11-18-18-24-28-35-45-67-xx) [17 wks]

'We're Good' may have been slated on Buzzjack but that didn't stop it from spending 3 weeks at #2 on the Multichart! It did end Dua's streak of Multichart #1s from this era though. Olivia Rodrigo has three songs in the top 20 and the first one out is 'déjà vu' (my personal fave), which did slightly better on the Multi than the official chart by peaking at #3. Lil Nas X's long-running #1 'MONTERO' is out next at #18, with two slow-burning hits ahead of it. 'Kiss Me More' was basically 'Say So' 2.0 but that did the trick, even with a #5 peak it spent 9 weeks in the top 10. And 'Your Love (9PM)' had 10 weeks in the top 10 despite a #6 peak, better than Topic and A7S' previous hit 'Breaking Me' which peaked at #8.

11 1177 Becky Hill & David Guetta - Remember (38-15-10-7-3-3-4-8-9-10-10-10-17-18-25-29-36-33-32-50-52-xx) [21 wks]

12 1144 ABBA - Don't Shut Me Down (5-2-2-2-2-2-2-4-3-3-4-5-7-7-9-13-...) [16 wks]

13 1126 Regard, Troye Sivan & Tate McRae - You (27-11-12-10-13-9-9-8-11-13-12-12-13-17-19-29-39-39-36-56-75-xx) [21 wks]

14 1087 Tiësto - The Business (…-34-22-19-14-17-17-12-11-10-8-9-9-12-13-16-20-29-37-48-xx) [19 wks]

15 1084 Joel Corry, RAYE & David Guetta - BED (13-6-6-5-3-2-2-2-3-3-7-10-13-15-31-46-59-58-xx) [18 wks]

In this dance-heavy section, we find another Joel Corry number-two hit, the BRIT-nominated "BED". Tiësto sleeper hit and slap house trend-setter "The Business" is also here, having spent most of its 24-week chart run in 2021. Regard's collab with professional vocalists Troye Sivan and Tate McRae charted for a lengthy 21 weeks, becoming the DJ from Kosovo's 3rd successive top 10 on the Multichart.

ABBA's comeback single "Don't Shut Me Down" meanwhile became the girl group's first Multichart entry and was held off the top spot for 6 consecutive weeks by "Cold Heart". Becky Hill's "Remember" just misses out on the EOY top 10, landing at the singer's favourite chart position, number 11.

Your Love, Bed, The Business and Remember are all worthy inclusions in the top 20!

LOL at 'girl group Abba' and 'Becky's favourite chart position #11'

10 1201 Billie Eilish - Happier Than Ever (32-13-7-8-8-7-9-9-8-9-7-11-14-18-18-30-36-44-48-32-27-...) [21 wks]

The hard hitting title track from Billie Eilish's Happier Than Ever would go on to become the album's biggest success story. It peaked at #7 on the Multi, consistently bounding around the lower end of the top 10 for quite a while

9 1221 Olivia Rodrigo - drivers license (16-7-1-1-1-1-1-1-4-4-4-7-17-16-18-27-33-42-44-59-71-xx) [21 wks]

We barely knew who Olivia Rodrigo was at the start of 2021, and within weeks she had a 6-week Multichart #1 to her name! 'drivers license' was just the beginning of a massive year for her, and it is not her highest entry on this countdown, in case you weren't keeping track...

A strong start to the top 10 so far!

I'm also a fan of 'MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)', 'Kiss Me More', 'déjà vu' and 'Don't Shut Me Down' since last commenting.

8 1278 Ed Sheeran - Bad Habits (17-9-9-2-1-1-1-3-7-11-12-13-19-21-21-18-29-30-35-38-44-56-73-xx) [23 wks]

Cheesy Ed transformed into a vampire that sucked the life out of poor Bronski Beat. With the record-breaking amount of payola invested in the single's radio and streaming playlist omnipresence, it was unfortunately inevitable that our forum members began bad habits of their own, giving Ed his first Multichart number one. Why copycat the Weeknd?

7 1282 Olivia Rodrigo - good 4 u (16-4-3-2-2-2-2-2-2-4-4-8-14-19-26-22-27-57-48-55-55-50-50-xx-68-xx) [26 wks]

2021 saw the public suddenly ready to have some Paramore-esque pop rock back in their lives, with Olivia Rodrigo's third single "good 4 u" becoming another chart-dominating track from her album Sour, ultimately sneaking past "drivers license" for her highest appearance on the countdown

6 1284 Galantis, David Guetta & Little Mix - Heartbreak Anthem (12-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-2-2-5-11-17-16-19-25-34-40-57-67-xx) [22 wks]

And here's the song that blocked 'good 4 u' from #1! Galantis and David Guetta team up on production for 'Heartbreak Anthem', probably more noteworthy as Little Mix's first release since the departure of Jesy. Needless to say, that didn't stop their momentum here, with 8 weeks at #1 on the Multi, tied for second-longest run of 2021. Personally I'm surprised it missed the top 5!

5 1304 Dua Lipa - Love Again (…-19-4-4-4-4-4-5-8-6-11-13-16-20-22-29-30-29-30-37-36-36-34-54-68-73-xx) [25 wks]

Inventor of longevity, Dua Lipa, kickstarts the EOY top 5 in style with Future Nostalgia 8th single "Love Again". The string-heavy, brooding midtempo charted as an album track for 8 weeks in 2020 and ended on an impressive tally of 33 weeks following a late post-album single release in 2021. Proud of Dua!

4 1340 The Kid LAROI & Justin Bieber - Stay (44-34-25-9-2-4-5-3-6-10-11-13-13-8-12-13-17-19-21-33-36-40-48-58-...) [23 wks]

The Kid LAROI continued his big chart breakthrough by teaming up with Justin Bieber for a surefire hit on "Stay", which reached a #2 peak on the Multichart - far eclipsing the #23 peak of "Without You"
