It is time once again for me to shill the Sully song that I tried to confirm - if y'all liked 'Swandive' enough for it to win then surely you'll want to hear more from Sully right?

 

 

I voted for 6 of the top 7 there so not much to complain about, particularly pleased to also see Kessler and Jasper Tygner up there! Tim Reaper still deserved better but I guess he was only 4 points off 8th place, very closely packed midtable! (I hadn't noticed Coco Bryce being so low as well, that also deserved way better).

 

My strategy of sending old BJSC potentials to the genre forum contests seems to almost never pay off, this is two in a row in Club Bizarre and both of them finishing in the bottom 5, perhaps I should take the hint that I never sent them to BJSC for a reason :lol: Although I'm on a pretty rotten streak in Club Bizarre in general with this being my third straight bottom 5 finish, at least I am being consistent I suppose (they've even all got almost identical points totals). Nevermind, still glad to have finally had an excuse to send this song and good to have found at least a couple of fans again. And 9 voters out of a possible 19 is pretty decent for a bottom 5 finish I suppose!

Additional noteworthy stat: me and Dobbo have now officially been top 5 in over half of every Club Bizarre contest (ten top-five placers each) :magic:

 

although of course Dobbo has now won 4 times more than I.

Oops continuing my poor form in Club Bizarre x Jungle and garage isn't really my type of genre and I struggled big time finding the right song for the theme, let alone a great song. Crash & Burn actually sounds surprisingly decent so glad to not finish dead last and receive a lot of points from the modern bloc. Thanks Rabbit for hosting and amazing graphics!

Hooray! :cheer: well first of all thank you for all the votes for Swandive, I thought it would do decently here but certainly not winning by such a margin. Humbled to win another one of these, can I pick the next genre :kink:

 

Now for the Sully saga yes as RFC pointed out I submitted a Pendulum-style dumb and bass track I had floating around my potentials list but was determined to find and send a jungle entry so got hunting and had a pre-contest to whittle down my fave one. Got very lucky indeed to just nip in ahead of Brade (sorry guys!) and should have just sent Swandive on first hearing as looking back it was streets ahead of the others (bar one I might save for BJSC sometime so watch this space!)

 

As for the other entries it's a shame 2 of my top 3 incurred deductions especially my fave Prospa being denied a top 3! But at least it was my second fave assuming that position in the end. Most of my votes finished top 10 too yay.

Congrats Dobbo, that was one of the instant standouts also, can see why it won by such a margin. And thanks RFC for hosting, I loved the animal theme for this, very imaginative.

 

An artist called 'Loli in early 20s' could only ever have been Iz. x (The song kind of gave me some Sewerslvt-esque vibes as well, good stuff)

 

He's one of the adjacent artists I found after playing a lot of Sewerslvt stuff, so right on there! Actually he's very prolific and a lot of it isn't DnB/Garage at all, going from breakcore to house to metal(!), so I may enter him again to a future song contest if I get attached to something else of his.

okay thoughts:

• lol @ getting 7th again :P that’s for sure my most common placing. Artcore regardless of the presence of any sort of mainstream EDM elements is an acquired taste so not really surprised at over half of my points coming from three people. Thanks as always for the support!

• those of you who were surprised I sent “Whitebird”: don’t be. This is another dance outfit that has produced for a DDR sister game and who I would LOVE to see in DDR eventually :heart: surprised no one clocked that considering how this is the 8th entry that is DDR adjacent? (although we did get SHINee in the contest so that kinda masked me more than usual)

• don’t really get the winner but congrats Dobbo on resuming dominance over this spin-off!
