'Chain Reaction' one of Step's finest covers where they manage to put their own stamp on this classic without disrepecting the original. The Safri Duo-inspired percussion sounds great and reallys adds something to the cover that could have easily been paint by numbers. This was a great choice to lead the 'Gold - Greatest Hits' & find it quite surprising that this was recorded during the 'Buzz' sessions. This wouldn't have fitted on there at all & much better suited for a greatest hits compliation.

I love this one. Period! Glorious uplifting campy pop. And to top it all there’s Claire’s belting near the end! Enough reason for me to put this at a victorious #13!

I like Victorious but it feels a little flat to me in the production. I do love Claire’s vocal though.

#12 Neon blue

 

TOTD was a glorious comeback and I enjoyed most single releases. This one is another great moment of the album. I really enjoy the uplifting vibe/message of the song. The video isn’t the greatest but I love the fun they seem to have. They worked on their issues and it shows wich makes this even more special. And it’s nice to hear each member sing some lines. So great release and a very deserving #12 :heart:

 

Why?

-The uplifting vibe of the song.

-They seem to have a genuine good time in the video.

-Each member gets a part.
