Posted February 14, 20223 yr aWzlQ2N6qqg To say that I'm excited for this would be an understatement. Been onto YouTube to watch trailer breakdowns and feel that I already know too much - need to try and avoid spoilers for the next few months!
February 14, 20223 yr Lots of teases in this one!! They certainly want us to think that Professor X is going to be in it which is the most exciting one for me - bring on the mutants!!
May 3, 20223 yr I gave it 4 stars out of 5. My Letterboxd review - SOFT spoilers. Nothing major and no giveaways: https://boxd.it/2O6kMn It shouldn't have been called "Mulitverse of Madness" coz that's setting the audiences up for disappointment, imo. "The Rise of Scarlet Witch" would've been better, imo. But other than that, I had a blast. I'm so happy we got a horror movie in the MCU - and they don't shy away either (jump scares, tension, gore) quite surprised at what they got away with for a 12a tbh! But yeah. I had so much fun being in the element of horror + MCU.
May 26, 20223 yr There's much to enjoy in this, but on the whole it was a little bit of a letdown after the build-up expectations. It's almost entirely action, for a start, there's not much room to pause to breathe and have a plot, and it comes over as a very long (big budget) TV episode season ender with so many unresolved plot threads. I had big hopes for the multiverse superhero cameos having some sort of impact beyond the cameos, but no. Scarlet Witch is in it. She may or may not be back. Sort of. Who knows. I preferred Wandavision, I loved her in that, but I think anyone not having seen the Marvel TV series might be a bit lost. BC does at least 4 versions of Doctor Strange, so take a notepad, and don't be shocked when you see his 3rd eye. Fnar fnar. America Chavez is a decent new character but the action cliche dialogue editor must have been having a nap at times, I'm sure Benedict was rolling his eyes when the camera wasn't rolling once or twice. Wong is still fab, though, and all the cast were fab too. By the way don't wait for the final easter egg. The wonderful Bruce Campbell of many a horror movie and the forgotten brilliant and funny forgotten 90's Western-Sci-Fi TV series The Adventures Of Brisco County Jr has a funny line after you've wasted 10 minutes sat watching dull credits, and that line is basically "It's ended". Watch it on Youtube instead AFTER watching the film, or it makes no sense. 7.5/10
May 29, 20223 yr I liked wandavision and Doctor Strange, so I was hyped, but ... what the fook was THAT? All action, poor action at that and ropey cgi, disgustingly bad dialogue - uhhh huuuh, mm hmmm!!! - FORTIFY YOUR MIIIIND - and a threadbare plot. Also, what does Marvel have against women without children??? And why is it ALWAYS the women getting this treatment?? DESGUSTEN! Also, the cheese was ofd the scale, and the threadbare plot was ridiculous and empty all at the same time! You had Doctor Strange Sin Corazon looking for a Christine of his own. USE THAT, NOT THIS ABOMINATION OF A PLOT. Jesus!! Absolute shite.
May 31, 20223 yr Now Sam Raimi has directed this, let’s hope he does a fourth Spider-Man with Tobey Maguire
