He did release some non-commercial songs about a month ago.

 

But they didn't have any big features, or really pushed in any big way (that I was aware of).

Although maybe The Parade was added to a couple of playlists - but it wasn't exactly heavily pushed - so it isn't really surprising they didn't chart

Tom Grennan and Mabel have been out for less than a week - songs don't instantly take off anymore (unless you're an act which sells on name alone - Ed Sheeran) and take a while to climb the charts.

 

George Ezra for Instance was basically labelled a flop in his first week - despite it debuting officially higher than other of his lead songs. However fast forward a few weeks and its set to go top 10.

 

We get it; you find Spotify slow - you don't need to tell everyone every day

Florence-My Love is top 40 now on Apple at #38, must be big pushed in some of their playlists

 

Besides #41 on Spotify, Pharrell - Just a Cloud Away is #69 on Amazon and up to #82 on Apple, this is gonna be so huge! You gotta love the unpredictability of tiktok

Yeah these 3 releases were just intended for the clubs- they were never intended as singles or expected to chart.

'BMW' drops 10 places to #43, which I think might now be a legitimate position for it. It climbed in all 6 of the city charts last week (43-36 in Birmingham, new at #76 in Bristol, 77-66 in Glasgow, new at #76 in Liverpool, 50-41 in London, 45-34 in Manchester) which of course equates to it dropping 7-13 nationwide :thinking: :lol:

 

'Locked Out Of Heaven' re-enters at #155, Heardle strikes again! (Ought to start making a note of how Heardle affects the daily increases of songs to see how consistent it is :lol:)

I personally like seeing songs rise to their peak these days it would just be nice for them to drop a bit quicker!

That's what ACR is supposed to be there for - problem is all it takes is a 0.0% increase, even when there's a more significant increase in the market, to avoid it for another 3 weeks. The OCC's propensity to manually reset songs which have clearly already peaked doesn't help.

Songs fluking <1% increases to extend their time on SCR is still a relatively rare occurrence tbf. The bigger 'problem' is that we have so many songs that are already on ACR but nonetheless hang around in the same position, sometimes quite high up, for months on end anyway. (Problem in inverted commas because I don't think there's anything wrong with that if songs are legitimately staying that popular for that long).

 

Looks like that Potter Payper/Tiggs Da Author song is blowing up after being used in the new series of Top Boy (it's a song from his mixtape from last year). A big debut for it on Apple so guessing it's likely to show up on Spotify tomorrow too. (Not sure why it's taken until now though actually as the series has been out for a couple of days already it looks like?)
